pop generally is from some safety device. make sure there isn't an electrical problem. Home antifreeze systems can gunk up system. and there usually isn't a convenient way to add it.

If it only comes on for a second, it;s almost certainly the compressor.. Don't attempt it yourself.

I cannot say if the calculator can do modulo calculations. the only manual I could unearth is in the language of tomorrow (Chinese).

You need the model # of the machine. You can just type the mod # into google search bar. That's usually all you need, but sometimes i type the word manual after the mod #.

I am assuming you have some refrigeration smarts. As a general rule the evap in a freezer is 10 degrees low than the box temp. Take the pressure of the low side then look on a P/T chart for that refrigerant and determine if it is where it needs to be. Usually somewhere around -10 to-15 degrees for a zero or colder box.

Sounds like its either a thermostat issue of the compressor is faulty of the unit needs regassing.
