I have connected it both line in and thru the speaker ports. Static sound continues regardless of connection type.
Go to the hardware store and buy a cheap plug-in polarity checked for the electrical socket. If the polarity is reversed, or your ground is improper is will give you a different colored light. Polarity is easy to reverse. Shut off the main breaker box in your home and simply take the cover off the outlet and swap the two wires with the narrow and wider blades on them. Make sure the ground wire is actually grounded to something like a water pipe of connected to the house ground rod, #4 rebar, 18 inches long with a thick copper wire and brass auto batt connector will work fine... bury it deep and remember where it is in the flower bed underneath a window sill outside. If the subwoofer is near the TV, you made be getting interference from it, if the cabinet is not shielded against RF.
SOURCE: Amp is on, Subwoofer works, but no sound.
here is a short test you can try, remove the rca audio cable from the amp & connect a diskman or toher audio o/p device that you can hook up with the same rca wires, turn on the amp & see if you have sound. you can also remove the speaker wires from the sub & using multi meter read the ohm's of the sub, most subs are 4 ohm. Hope this help locate your problem
SOURCE: loud humming buzzing sound coming from subwoofer
make sure you have the speaker connection right if you do then it is a ground problem try plugging it in a different outlet
SOURCE: not getting sound out of speakers
Go into Control Panel and click on SOUNDS and when the Sound Properties window opens check to see if the speakers are set right.
Hope this helps. Bud
