Anything to do with non working hardware IS A DRIVER ISSUE AND IF IT IS NOT IN THE UPDATE SITE YOU WILL HAVE TO DOWNLOAD DRIVERS FROM THE VENDOR OF YOUR PARTICULAR HARDWARE. MOST HARDWARE THAT WORKS IN VISTA WILL WORK IN WINDOWS 7.
a windows update may have run and killed the drivers...try rolling the system back to before the problem started, then if updates run again..and set them to download but dont install..install them yourself..run updates and see if the problem re-appears.
