My Ketron Sd5 seems to play a different key on the right than on the left. For example if I play a beat in the key of G (left) the right hand side plays in A. Can you help?

I'm almost sure that your pitch bender is going crazy and it feeds right hand with constant transpose of -2. You must change it with new one.

Can a Korg CX3 Organ 61 keys be compatible with the RolandFantom XR module?

Hi, from what I can tell you cound plug your CX3 into the synth module with a 1/4 inch patch cable and run the audio through it, however I think you will be quite limited in what you can do to modify your sound.

Where the synth really works well is when you feed it digital input data. For you to be able to do that your CX3 would need midi outputs and while I don't have one, I looked it up and can see that the CX3 is too old and does not have midi capability.

Midi (musical instrument digital interface) is a common language that allows musical devices such as your fantom to communicate with other devices. A keyboard with midi running into a synth is in essence just a control surface, a way for you to input data into your synth module, it is making no sound itself, but rather outputting digital data into your synth which in turn generates the sounds you want it to. There are allot of keyboards out there that are only for this purpose and are simply controllers. For example, M-Audio Oxygen 61 - 61-Key USB MIDI Controller. I'm afraid your CX3 is just too old to be able to do this, however, I imagine some of the sounds that thing makes are very vintage and good, and modern synthesizers often times just cant reproduce that (though they are getting batter all the time). Hope that helps :)

While using korg m50 editor using usb data cable there is no sound from my lap.the sound is only from my head phone connected to my keyboard directly?

Are you connecting to the laptop and using it as a midi controller? You can record midi notes from the keyboard and send them to your laptop via USB using any midi sequencer program (reason, logic, etc). Create a midi track, select the input of that track as your keyboard, then hit record to play some midi notes. To hear what you record, you have to set the output of the midi track to whatever midi sounds or instrunents you have installed on your laptop.

If you are trying to record the actual audio sound the keyboard makes, use an audio program such as cubase, sonar, audacity, pro-tools, and either mic the keyboard, or connect one of the other audio outputs (1/4" TRS) to an audio input on your DAW, and record an audio track that way (as opposed to a midi track).

Have a casio px 320 and trying to use it in GarageBand on my Mac OS X. Connecting USB cable from USB output on Casio to USB input on Mac doesn't work. Any help?

use the audio output to send the keyboards internal patch sounds, or use a usb midi adapter to use the keyboard to trigger the garageband midi sounds, if the keyboard has a midi output, that is. the usb output requires software drivers to use, and IS NOT mac compatible. You may have to select a midi source in garage band preferences or settings if you are using midi.

Does it have the option to load other sounds in it?

Here is the manual if you don't have it:http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/pdf/emi/english/ssdrums/dtxp4_en_om_d0.pdf The set comes with 427 drum/percussion voices and 22 keyboard voices. If you use a midi cable plugged into the midi out on the sound module you can control other midi sound modules and midi devices by plugging into the midi in on them. Page 30 of the manual describes some of the parameters. If this helps please let me know.

They use pre-programed chips. You will have to use the midi out feature to control another midi capable sound module or midi in to a computer and use the internal sound card.

My casio 496 cannot connect to fruity loops

Unfortunately your model of Casio only has midi in and not midi out. You will be able to use it as an external sound module but not to input notes into Fruity Loops. In other words midi out of your computer to midi in of the Casio with the proper settings will play your Fruity Loops sequences through the Casio.
