For digital cameras you should use either Rechargeable(whith high Ampere) or high performance alkaline batteries (ie. Lithium Duracel or Enegizer) normal alkaline batteries will not be able to charge the Flash. If you are useing high performance batteries then it is sadly your camera which is faulty. repairing it you could but it is cheaper to get a new camera.

Good luck!

SOURCE: i have a samsung digimax A7 camera the picture on

It's almost certainly a failed ccd sensor chip and if so it cannot be fixed unless the camera is still under warranty.

To confirm, check whether camera menus and photos taken before the fault occurred still display correctly; if they do then it rules out any fault with the LCD panel.

You can't repair this on a DIY basis and a professional repair is completely unrealistic as the camera is an ultra budget model which only cost around £60 brand new. Spare parts simply aren't available, and if they were then supplying and fitting would cost more than a new replacement. Even if under warranty still, Samsung would simply chuck your camera straight into the bin and send you another.

In this instance, even if the LCD panel is at fault then it's still not worth repairing for the same reasons.

Sorry, but in this instance your only option is to buy a replacement camera.

I hope that my reply has still been useful, if so please take a moment to rate my answer.

I get a message saying USB error on samsung A40 digimax camera when i want to connect to my computer to upload photos

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
