My Epson XP-810 is giving me a false message of a paper jam. I located the piece of paper that was jammed and removed it. However the printer continues to give me a paper jam message. Any suggestions?

I have checked all of the locations where paper can jam and they are all clear.

Hello There this may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.
And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Common problem on this unit. Most of the time the paper sensor pops out. The bad news is to fix this problem you have to disassembly the whole printer. Takes around two hours. Don’t start to do it if you have no experience.

Maybe not. If a small corner of a piece of paper is covering the sensor, it will still give you a jam condition. Office supply stores have a special cleaning paper. It is sticky on both sides and is meant to remove paper dust from the rollers and clear the paper path in the printer. You can get it online, just google printer cleaning paper.

If paper is jammed, a Paper jam message will appear on the control panel display.

Follow these steps to clear the jam:

  1. Gently pull any jammed paper out of the output tray or sheet feeder.

  2. If the paper is stuck inside, turn off the Epson Stylus CX.

  3. Open the scanner, remove the jammed paper and torn pieces, close the scanner, and turn the Epson Stylus CX back on.

If paper jams inside the Automatic Document Feeder, clear the jam as follows:

  1. Open the Automatic Document Feeder cover and remove any jammed paper.

When a paper jam occurs during printing for some reason, the printer beeps, displaying the message <PAPER JAM> in the display. When a paper jam occurs, remove the jammed paper using the following procedure, and then resume the job. If the message that indicates the paper jam does not disappear even after removing the jammed paper following the procedure, there is a possibility that torn pieces of paper are still left inside the printer. Inspect each part of the printer again, and completely remove all pieces of jammed paper.
