I can't switch the input on my tv. Any ideas what would cause this?

I have a Westinghouse model dwm40f1g1.

That is a main board issue. Needs replacement if you resetting the electronics to factory defaults does not cure the issue.

Main power regulator board problem. If the set is under warranty, contact the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. The whole idea of HDMI is it is plug and play, plug it in and it should auto switch to HDMI,if not on remote go to source, press input, then pree HDMI

My Westinghouse TX-42F810G TV volume (only) is decaying. Any ideas?

Are you saying the DVD & chromecast have good volume on this TV ? Is your problem with the cable box only ?
Are you using a surround sound system with the TV ? If you are using the sound from the tv only & all your other unit work ok sound wise I would assume the cable box is bad .
