SOURCE: can't get picture

Hello matthew95765,
The TV is working, the message is coming from the dish box. What you need to do is to determine if the dish box is connected to the dish and that it has signal at the box, because the message it is delivering to the TV is that it is not receiving signal from the satellite. so you have to check the connection at the satellite and at the box because those are the only point that can generate the error you are getting.
I hope this helps,
Thank you,

SOURCE: SATELLITE DISH

Sure you can, if you have Dish Network go to the receiver and turn the TV and receiver on. Then press menu-6-1-1. This takes you to the point dish screen. You will come out with better results using a compass to find the azimuth the dish should be pointed toward and bore sighting the dish by pointing it in that direction. You then will need to move the dish in very minute increments pausing for 15 to 20 seconds after each move to ensure the satellite signal can be found. If you have ran a check switch prior to this and have lost all satellites you more than likely will not receive a signal until you run another check switch and have found the signal of at least one of the orbitals. If this proves to be to tedious and many times it will you can usually find an inexpensive signal pointing device at a store like Radio Shack. Hope this is some assistance to you. Let me know if I can be of additional assistance and thank you for using Fix Ya.

SOURCE: No picture on dish tv

Hello,

The 311 receiver is normall a pretty tough machine. Getting a 70 % signal is normal, and it shouldn't fluctuate too much unless you have something like a tree or other obstacle in the way.

85% of the problems with these older systems is the LNB. I see it all the time.

My first suggestion would be changing the LNB (the eye of the dish). You say that your system is 10 years old, and there are a lot of LNB's out there that go bad over time. It may say that you are getting signal, but the quality may be so poor that the receiver may not know what to do with it.

If you have 2 LNB's (separate eyes) on your dish, then you have two singles or duals with a switch 21. I'd remove these and replace them with a Legacy Twin LNB. If you have a Twin LNB, then replace it with another Twin (especially if it has "lot" number printer in the front of it, these are notoriously bad).

I hope this helps you...

I have a foxstat -HDR humax box and I am getting no or bad signal on the TV downstairs. I can get some channels but not all.

I suspect that the box upstairs is a Freesat box; a Freeview box requires a feed from an aerial, not a dish.

The problem you are seeing may be caused by water in the cables, if they are not sealed at the LNB. The LNB may be failing, but dish misalignment is more likely.

As there is an unused output on the LNB, try swapping one of the feeds with a poor signal to it.

Dish network Blue screen No "Signal

Hi john harrison!

A blue screen with "No Signal" is usually related to a video problem. The TV may be getting changed off the correct input/channel, or the video cable might be going bad.

If you have a spare, I would recommend a different cable and seeing if that fixes the problem. If it continues, verify the input/channel your TV is on when it receives a picture and if it goes out try putting it back on that input/channel.

If problems still continue I would be happy to review additional options with you. You can reach me here or at [email protected]

Ive got a freesat dish and reciever but we get 90% signal but no quality any suggestions

Your on the wrong satellite, If your on any satellite youll get a high Signal but you wont get a high quality until your on the specific satellite. Astra 2A is for freesat. If you can bring that up on the menu then just keep moving the dish until the quality goes above 50% and that will suffice for a decent picture.

We have a satellite dish. We have followed the instructions to hook up our new Westinghouse TX-42F810G LCD Flat Screen, but we continue to get a "NO Signal" message. How can we resolve this issue?

It is possible that the LNB is not tuned to the right slot to track the signal from the source sattellite. So use the right direction to set the parameters, set the dish to the required direction.
If the signals tracked are free channels then you must receive them.
So keep trying to get the dish in the right orientation, get signal after coarse setting and then fine set for tracking the signal without signal splits.

My Westinghouse SK-32H540S TV comes on for about 5-10 seconds, then the picture goes off. The sound continues.

You need to replaced your Inverter Board, If you can do the job, get the Board Part number and order it from Westinghouse. If not call a Professional TV Technician. At least you have an idea what's the trouble with your set. Hope this Tip will help you. Thanks

The picture on my Westinghouse LCD TV looks like it's intermittently being scrambled. What's wrong?

The problem could be with your cable company, i have lived in 4 places around the country within the last 4 years, thanx to the military, anyway since cable companies have switched entirely to digital cable boxes and have tried to cram as much HD programming as possible to keep up with the amount carried by dish, any little communication that occurs creates a digitally distorted image. Now if you have the dish, it could be the weather and 1000 other variables not cause by your TV and equipment.

Your problem is a combination of calibration of your TV and signal strength of your Dish system. Proper color calibration will remove the motion blur and SD issues in the average home. If you continue to have poor quality on your dish system after calibration, then Dish needs to check your signal strengths again. (AND fix it.)
