SOURCE: Problem feeding 9m tape in Dymo 1895

I have one of these and there is a white sliding button on one of the broad sides of the labelmaker. It slides from 3/8 inch to 1/4 inch. It is located toward the top right. It's NOT the side with the letter wheel but the opposite side. If yours doesn't have t his button, it probably won't take two sizes of tape. (But I'd be surprised if it didn't have the button.) Hope you find it.

I have an old Dymo Jet 1855 Mk11 and the tape will not advance when embossing or cutting

I was having the same problem. When you load the tape make sure to push it through the slot just in line with the white lever that sticks out of the left side of the machine.

Dymo 220P has a new cartridge but won't print

I should check that your new cartridge is identical to the old one. I have had a similar problem with blue plastic case cartridges, when my Dymo works perfectly with the clear ones. I have found that the blue ones do not have the gaps / notches at the bottom, but just the one! So I have cut off another slot, using the clear plastic cartridge as a template, added a bit of Dymo sticky tape because the new gap was too deep, and that was sorted! Good luck and mind your fingers! It looks to me like planned obsolescence!

Hi our LBELMANAGER 350D KNIFE KEEPS STAYING OUT

have the same on labelmanager 450. See if you can see any tape/glue particles on either side of cutting edge .
I cleaned the cutting edge with a thoothpick by pushing the point on the cutting edge and cleaving the wood, then moving ther thoothpick up/down along the cutting edge. Usng any metal tools may damage the knife.

Faint type on metallic refills

Faded print is nearly always the 1st sign the batteries are nearly worn out - try new batteries. (it could be that metalic tape requires more power to print than the paper tape)

How to load tape

it's not obvious indeed!
The idea is to;
1. take out the ring (try it by releasing the back part first! easy does it.
2. put tape into the Dymo 1855 mk II by pressing the white lever down
3. then take the tape you pushed through and guide it through the ring.
4. Put the ring back into the Dymo.

It worked for me ;-)

Good luck,

Marc

Does not cut through the tape

Here is what Dymo has to say about this issue:
https://global.dymo.com/enUS/RNW/RNW.html?pg=std_adp.php&p_faqid=68

Here is the text in case the link drops:
Question Why can't I cut the tape after printing a label?
trnsp.gif Answer Every time a label is cut, residue from the label's adhesive remains on the cutter blade. This is a normal occurrence when the LabelMaker is used frequently. It is important to regularly clean the cutter blade in the cassette compartment with either the special brush delivered together with the LabelMaker (located in tape compartment door) or a cotton tip swab and a soft solvent (e.g. alcohol).
If the solution above does not resolve the problem, check for tape path obstructions. If the problem persists, please contact DYMO Technical Support to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number. To obtain an RMA number, scroll to the top of this page and click on the Ask a Question tab. Make sure to include your full name, address, shipping, and contact information.
