Sometimes, the leading edge/ front curls due to humidity.
If the pickup roller cant pull it in due to the edge not being grabbed, a detector senses that no paper has advanced.

Check ream is butted fully in, edges are flat.

Check the paper end sensor, remove the tray, look inside of opening, at the top toward the right side, make sure there is an arm sticking down, wires are connected and the sensor is in place. Most common problem is the arm is dislocated or sensor out of position, See graphic

if you look carefully and you found there is no a piece of paper, this happens when you removed the paper by force in rong direction that course the sensor to be out of its detecting position, look for them or let your tech to look for.
also may be your key board is a problem, try to change the key board if possible.

First I would pull the paper tray out and look for a wade of paper jamed behind the paper tray or jamed in the paper path above the cassette. Another problem could be that the tray is not lifting. If you take the second tray out and reinstall the first tray can you look under the tray and see it raise up or does it make a noise and not lift. It could be the rachet gear is broken that lifts the paper up. These are just a few ideas.. Good Luck
