2 2/3
An improper fraction is simply a fraction with the numerator being larger than the denominator.
To make it an improper fraction from the mixed number given, just multiply the whole number (2) by the denominator (3), then add the numerator (2). The result is the new numerator and the denominator remains the same.
In this case (2 2/3), it would be 2 * 3 + 2 for the numerator....or 8. So 8/3 would be the improper fraction.

Improper Fractions are where the numerator is greater than (or equal to) the denominator - 6/4, 9/2, 6/6. Here the top number is divided by the bottom number and the remainder left on top of the bottom number, so 6/4 = 1and 2/4 = 1and1/4 (Should be written together without the "and" Can't do it on this site as it looks like12/4 and 11/4).
9/2 = 4and1/2
6/6 = 1
Proper Fractions are where the numerator isless than the denominator - 1/3, 4/5 etc.
