I have a Sansui 1928 (19") led tv and the channels are set to cable. How do I get it to switch to air, or antenna mode?

Check first the antenna using another TV. If there is no other TV available, check using an ohmeter. If you are 100% sure tha the antenna is ok then the antenna connector on your Tv is not making a good connection to the antenna plug.

Can you confirm that you didn't have any input signal? My wife once accidentally pressed the reset button on the remote and the TV was stuck in this state. I tried to hook up an antenna to the digital antenna input and let the TV search for a channel. It did find a station and got out of the channel search mode, which was all I needed. Then, I unhook the antenna and continued to enjoy my DVD movie. I didn't check the manual. So, it's possible that there is a better solution. My TV was working fine and I think it just has a terrible user interface. I'm not sure about your TV's condition, though.

On the Notification screen with Cable highlighted I found that left clicking on Cable gave a drop down menu with TV on it for selection. The manual says that while Cable is highlighted, use the up or down arrows to get TV to be an option and then select it and Yes and enter. Hope this helps. I have other problems with my monitor on Line Out, the screen oftens turns blue indicating low or no video using Line 1 or 2 inputs.

Direct tv, unless using there HD service will give a pretty crappy picture for high res displays. So if you spent the money on the set, spend the extra $9 a month for there HD service.. Is well worth it.
