Hi TV was idle for almost one month. I switched on the TV after this one month. Then TV was not turned on, five red blinks are coming and nothing is coming in the screen I did power reset the TV and nothing seems to work. When I trun it on, after I press the power button, it hear pretty audbile click then, the red led blinking flashing light 5 times every few seconds. TV model is Sony LED TV KDL 40W900A. 5 red flashes is a bad panel connection or internal panel short, very carefully take the panel connectors off and reseat them and see if that helps, unfortunately you may have a bad panel.

SOURCE: Power LED blinks red
it is a bad fan. it also could be a power supply. Quite often the real problem is dirt clogging up the fan(s) to the point that they need to be replaced. Operation of the set in a dirty environment is not a good idea
Thats an error code, but I will need the model number to help you identify what the 5 blinks mean

Our $2700 less than 3 year old Sony LCD KDL-40XBR5 did the same thing 2 weeks ago. Sony was anything but helpful. They said to take it to a repair shop or we could send them $550 and they would replace it with a $800 set. Repairman says that it is a panel and the part has been discontinued by Sony. The 46" sets had the same problem and were recalled but not the 40" screen. We stopped on the way home and purchased a 40"

circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks
for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function.
Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761
and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on
the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning
up screen A2 slightly.

Hi,
Thanks for your valuable suggestions. I Have removed the connection on panel (mother board (or) main board) and connected back. But there is no change in response from TV. It still five blinks are flashing.
What could be other reasons. Is it the problem with the mother board. Should order the mother board to replace ?
How to order the mother like any number on board (or) make is compulsory?
has KDL-40W900A model LCD display (or) LED display ?
