What is wrong with the set, Val?

If you see an image with a flashlight the T con board and power supply board are good. The back light controller board is the culprit.

Hope the TV have problem with the either power board or the lcd panel. Try to check the power supply is its produce correct voltages mentioned on its connectors if you need help then check the video for that. if the power supply finds ok then you have problem with the lcd panel. In lcd panel there is a some ics which used as the driver of the pixels. the tcon sends data to these ics. and if any onf the ics draws more current from t con board then it can dame the t con. They are not replaceable one ,its integrated to the panel. if its faulty then you have to go for a new panel for that tv. And it would be a expensive repair.

Probably the t con board of your TV is faulty. T con board is the one which drive the lcd pixels. You have to replace the T con board to get it work properly.

Yor tv have problem with T con board. T con board is one which drives the pixels of the LCD panel. If any of the driver satge in the T con board is faulty then this problem can occur.

Some times bad contacts on the connections of the t con board can cause same problem. Remove the tv and find out the t con bard. Remove the connections to it and the reconnect the connections. Then check, if the problem remains the same then the tv need a new T con board.

You have didn't mentaioned any model number of your tv. So it is not possible to show you exactly how T con board looks.

Normally in all lcd tvs the tcon board is place on the bottom or top middile position. Which will be cover with metal cover or aluminium foil.

You didnt specify the brand and model number of your TV any way the above mentioned problem can occur when the T-con board of the lcd Tv have some problem. There is no repare possible with these boards. The t-con board controls the pixels of the lcd panel. When any one of the out put from the t-con is faulty then the specific pixel or row of pixel will be absent. That's we see as lines or missing pixels. You can find the T con board normally in the bottom centre or top centre of the LCD tv covered with metal cover or aluminium foil. There will be a part number in the board. You have to replace a board with the same part number.

Hi there are a couple of hings that could be bad with your tv. Your screen or your t-con board would be the most obvious. Screens are expensive to replace so I would try replacding the t-con board. The t-con is the board thattransfers your signal to the lcd screen. It is usually located on the top center of the tv. You would need to open up your tv and get the part number fro the board.
