RLA= Rated load amps or running loads amps depending on mfg.
FLA= Full load amps
LRA= Locked rotor amps.
watts is voltage times current, So use 220 time the LRA get that watts or 220 times FLA to get that watts and
multiply 220 times RLA to get watts.

SOURCE: 220 watt car amp -- 8 or 10 gauge amp kit?

when in doubt go bigger, you might want to get a bigger amp down the road, so its better to not have to buy another wiring kit later.
and the bigger the wire the less line loss you will have so your amp will sound and perform better.

SOURCE: 05 tc. A/C blows hot then cold. Didn't blow cold

The A/C pump ismade of three seperate components. You are correct in it being electrical, to some degree. The compressor is self turnes, & in turning moves the freon thru the condensor,dryer, evaporator, & condensor. With the engine off, you can grab the clutch on the compressor, & turn it manually. Now, to your question. When you turn on your A/C, it sends a signal to one of 3 parts on your A/C compressor. The 1st signal, is a charge to the magnet (not its nomenclature name) that pulls the clutch, quickly, into the compressor shaft, so it can start turning. Now as this signal, is working,on an intermittant basis, 1 your clutch has been damaged, not always engaging fully,causing disc wear. The activating magnet, works intermittantly, this too, strains the electrical wiring, going thru the compressor to the magnet. Now the compressor works, but, 2 components, have gotten very hot, by intermittant action. To remove them, if "fused", will be labor intensive. Thanhaving a "sealed" system, dis-assembled, then re-assembled on a mechanics work table. No matter how hard I try its never completely clean......the repaired compressor can allow harmful contaminates into a system that works, with one part not working. Once contaminates are in the system......all the components can be damaged. The mechanic, is giving you the most cost efficieant repair, that will last longest, with least possiblility of failure.

How much power do I need to run a 1.5 ton AC? Its rated voltage is 220-240V, compressor LRA is 58A, and cooling power input is 2300W.

Your 'power' is the 220 - 240 volts.

The installation manual will tell you all this. In North America with 110volts AC is normally on a dual 15 amp breaker. Your installer will set all this up.

How many LRA in 20562BTU

That makes no sense. LRA is going to be for a motor or compressor. I've never heard of a 20562 BTU machine. You have to read the data plate on the machine, either indoor or outdoor unit will tell you. If you can't read the data plate turn the power off and look at the data plate on the actual motor itself. Good Luck!!

LRA how to convert in tonage so 10 LRA How many ton and 145 LRA Copland scroll compressor tonage value pleas give me answer

LRA on the data tag stands for "locked rotor amps" and has nothing to do with tonnage. In the model # there should be a number to use. And divide that # by 12 (12,000 btu/ton). So if I had a PFG24H200 it would be the "24"and a 2 ton unit

What type of a compressor that the sanyo SR - 36A uses? and can it work if remove a 110v compressor and replace it with a 240v compressor?

You can use a 220 volt compressor, just make sure the evaporator fan is also 220 volts as well as all of the bulbs, and anything else that is 120 volts. Everything must be 220 volts. including the start and run capicitors.

Good luck,

How to find out tonnage from lra

There is 12,000 Btu per ton. Multiply The voltage by the amps (current draw), that equals to watts. Multiply the watts by 3.413 and that is your Btu. Then divide by 12,000 and that's your tonnage.

I need an inverter for my 1 hp air condition. how many watts do i need especially at start-up? modified or pure sine wave. Thank you.

The most important spec that you will need is the LRA rating. What this stands for is locked rotor amps. The LRA rating is what the AC unit will draw from the inverter while the compressor starts up. This is a very important spec when sizing an inverter for use with an AC unit. After you get this spec you will multiply it by the voltage and this will be the startup wattage needed by the inverter.

For example if your LRA is 60.6 amps if you multiply this by 115 you will get roughly 7000 watts at start-up.

The next thing to take into consideration for a AC unit is battery bank size. Your next step in setting up a system for use with an AC unit is finding a sufficient recharge source for the batteries. You will want to have a minimum of a 150 amp alternator to recharge a system with a small AC. I do not know whether you will be able o accommodate them.
Why don't you go for solar power as standby OR a small generator????????

Baseboard heaters

measure each room you want to heat. multiply the length x width, this will give you the square footage of the room to be heated, multiply that by 10 and that is the number of watts needed to heat the room using 220/240v baseboards.
