Hello,
I have the same problem a few others have had on the boards with my Panasonic PT-HX40B rear projection TV. I checked the circuit board and sure enough it is the same issue on mine with burnt out capacitors and transistor.
Although I'm fairly mechanically inclined, I've never replaced capacitors and transistors on a board before. Can anyone walk me through the steps of the board removal and replacement of the three components (Q553, C555 & C556)? I think I also need to replace C552 as it has scorch marks on it from the others around it.
All help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Q553 is a mosfet transistor NTE2973 ,caps1200pf 2k volts c552 is probly good, you might also have to replace STK-392-110s if so you will have to do complete convergence alinement. you need someone who knows how to solder, and do set up alinement for this does have to be done by someone who knows how if not done correctly you can shut set down, then you will really have trouble!!!!!!

Well, thanks to all on the boards, I fixed the TV by replacing the 3 capictors and the one transistor! For those not extremely electrically inclined (like me), I clipped them so that the legs remained on the board and soldered the new caps and transistor to the original legs. I know it's probably not the best way to do it, but it worked like a charm..
Thanks again..
