I know the E1F5 error for Kenmore ranges/ovens made by Whirlpool. For that set of appliances, the error indicates that the door latch switch or the door open/closed switch mechanism isn't responding correctly. If the error occurred when starting a self-clean cycle, look at the door latch and switch before the door closed switch. The problem could be with the latch, the latch assembly or one of these switches. If the latch is bent, replace it. If there is dirt around the latch mechanism, clean it.
Otherwise, it could be the solenoid of the door latch or the electronic switch that controls the latch or door switch assembly. Unplug the appliance before testing. You'll need to access the back of the appliance to reach the electrical wires. You can check the wires to the latch assembly and the door switch for damage. Make sure that these wires aren't damaged at the control board, as well. Then pull out a multi-meter to check the door switch and latch switch. The door switch should give an open when the door is open. Check at the small terminals. Similarly, the door latch switch should read as open when the latch is open. Note: the light circuit will be closed when the door is open.
Replace any part that appears to be bad. Press and hold any key pad button for a minute to clear the error. Press Cancel after you see F2. Wait another minute to observe if the error recurs. If the replacement switch doesn't solve the problem, then the control board is the source of the failure. This should be replaced.
Please add a comment with the model number of the appliance for links to parts diagrams and parts lists.
I hope this helps.
