My tablet freezes every minute or so. I have Avast Cleaner but it just cleans casches. What can I do?

Unless your tablet is running Windows then the necessity for any type of anti-virus or cleaner is pretty much obsolete. The reason your tablet keeps freezing is because Avast is using a lot of your resources. I recommend un-installing Avast cleaner as it is only causing more issues than it is helping. By default, Android-based tablets RARELY get ANY kind of virus. I work on phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, etc... and to this day, I have seen only one virus on an android tablet. And even the virus couldn't launch enough to infect the system.

Hope this helps.

Can I get viruses on my tablet? how can I check for any?

Tablets can get viruses just like regular computers. Install a trusted virus scanner. AVG is free and works well. There are many others. If this tablet is not android based - there are plenty of free options depending on the operating system. Malwarebytes.org has a free scanner for malware that is great for pc's running the windows operating system.

Fix my HP tablet

There are dozens of virus protection programs out there.

Avast! and AVG are the highest rated free antivirus programs.
Norton (Symantec) and McAfee are the best known for the ones you buy.

Depending on who you use for internet access, they also may have free access for you to get Norton or McAfee.
Right now, both Comcast and CenturyLink give you free Norton antivirus.

"No supported wireless adapter available in this system" message

Hi Cynthia.     I will attempt to answer your questions. A BIOS cannot be disturbed with a virus,at least not that I know if since BIOS is on a different type of memory.Every piece of hardware attached to a computer needs software and drivers to work. You will need  to download everything for what ever doesn't work now. You need to download the wireless adapter driver, for sure. The software is usually included . You will have to save it to a disk or a CD so that you can transfer it to your computer and install it. I hope this works for you.  Good luck.
