Hello, Raymond -

Congratulations on finding your field glasses. I checked the Winchester.com web site to see if they offered repair services for their field glasses / binoculars. I did not find that they manufactured field glasses . . . meaning they are probably not providing repair services, either. I assume you are in the USA.

I did find a business located in suburban Chicago, Illinois, Elk Grove Village. Among many things they repair they state they repair "optics", including binoculars. I suggest you call this company and ask about repairing your field glasses:

United Camera Service Center
2525 Busse Road
Elk Grove Village, Illinois 60007
Toll Free: 866-488-8227

Best wishes

I purchased a Winchester model 1894 30-30 today and wondering about its history

Hello, Billy -

You are fortunate in that the Winchester firearms company provides a list of firearms manufacture dates and serial numbers.

This is the link to the Winchester Repeating Arms company home page:
http://www.winchesterguns.com/

You will see the Support link near the upper right of the home page: Choose that and then look for the Frequently Asked Questions link:
http://www.winchesterguns.com/support/faq.html

On the FAQs page, scroll down to #8, "What year was my Winchester manufactured? Click or tap on that link.

You will be taken to a web page with the heading:
Winchester Firearms Manufacturing Dates by Serial Number and Year; 1866 through the early 1990s.

Scroll down that page until you see an image with typed columns. Click or tap on that.

You will then be taken to a PDF (Adobe Acrobat Reader - free software) document which you can search through to find the year your firearm was manufactured.

On the first page of the PDF document, you will find toll free phone numbers you can choose to call for additional information.

The lists for the Model 94 (1894) begin on page 9 of the PDF document.

Best wishes.

I have a winchester shotgun model 12-20 GA serial # 1396365 year of manufacture?

Winchester says a lot of records were destroyed:

  1. A fire at the factory

  2. Inadvertent destruction (during office cleaning)

  3. Records simply lost in filing

  4. Records misplaced between ownership transitions

  5. Documents borrowed but not returned

From what I have found late 1953

This may help if it isn't your exact weapon

Model 9422M 22Mag gun was stolen aprox. a year ago police returned it today. large amount of rust and magizen tube missing.

You can try to clean the rust with toothpaste and a lot of rubbing with a soft rag. Have a gunsmith order a magazine tube for you and install it. This shouldn't be expensive. hope this helps you

Will not generate or weld, was working ok last time it was running about 1 year ago.

It probably has lost all residual magnetic field from the rotor.

You may need to "flash" the field to restore operation.

Search Google for instructions. Sometimes others have found that plugging in an electric drill that does NOT have a throtling trigger and spinning it while connected to the generator will get the generation started again. There are other methods as well.
