My Neptune 5500BWW goes cycles but no spin?

My Neptune 5500BWW goes through all the cycles but the clothes all sit in one place, so I would assume that the drum is not spinning. It had been sounding louder when it was spinning previous to this but it wasnt anything that had unusual sounds it just seemed louder. I thought like our dishwasher over time the sound barrier doesnt work as well, obviously this was wrong. I am trying to decide if it will be worth it to call a repairman or just get new washer? After reading all the problems I am wondering if this will just lead to more. The washer was bought in 2003, and prior to this no problems which looks to me like we have been very, very fortunate for that length. Thanks and if u need more specifics please ask!!

Found out the model was bad design, it would cost replacing the whole drum, motherboard etc. so we bought new washer after repairman came out and told us that. So much for Maytag being the dependibility people?!? Now heard that Whirlpool bought them so problems should be less...not sure if that is true or not...yet. THank you so much for your help!

Sounds to me like your repairman should be able to make short work on this. I may be mistaken but I would almost bet that your problem lies in a broken belt or a worn pulley. Most competent repair guys should be able to fix that within a couple of hours.

Other problems it could be are sticking pullies, a drum that is sticking, or a bad motor. Any of which should be easily fixable and cheaper than buying a new machine.

Central seal is broken and tub bearings are failing. Bearings can be replaced, though it's hard to do and special tools are needed. There are no separate part numbers for the bearing, and supposedly the outer tub has to be replaced, which is VERY expensive. Look up "neptune bearings" on ebay, you'll find some

My neptune washer will start and run about half a cycle and it acts like it gets stuck and on one cycle and never shuts off. I put a load of clothes in before I went to bed and next morning the machine...

What does half a cycle mean are you in Wash cycle, Spin Cycle? What does the Cycle Status LED indicate?

If you think the wash load is in a spin cycle of the wash cycle or rinse cycle place the machine in Spin Only cycle and see if it will complete.

Neptune MAH5500B waon't spin - clothes very wet at end of cycle. Tried to just spin but no spin action and timer just goes down to 1 minute and stays there.

turn back to spin,
and see if you get a lock light,
if your lock is working you will need a new motor control,, and maybe a new motor

Maytag Neptune makes loud drums like sound 5 min before it stops.

its probably because of the way the clothes are in it. you have to make sure the clothes arent leaning to one side and that they are evenly set up. otherwise when it goes into the spin cycle itll lean and hit the side of the washers inside and make it shake and do what you said it was doing.

Will not spin, clothes are soaking wet.

Are you sure washer is level? I solved our problem that simple and I had worked on solving it for weeks until I double checked the level and found it a little off. Now it works wonderfully.

is your door lock light lighting up? if not you have a bad board and wax motor in the door lock. if you look at the board and locate r11 and see it burned this is 100 percent your problem. now do you have delay wash cycle? if so set it into delay and then locate your motor control board which is in the bottom you need to oipen the door and remove all four screws. be carefull the door may fall off don't remove the door but do remove the outer piece to locate the motor controller. Locate the jp4 connecter and remove it. make sure the unit is unplugged when openning up and removeing these. Now plug unit in if the unit starts tumbling, you may have to hit start, but if the unit continuously tumbles then you know that your motor and your motor controller are ok. If they do not then you have a bad motor/motor controller. Now if it tumbles freely you have 3 out of balance sensers one of them is bad they have 2 blue wires going to them check the connections and make sure non of them are broken and let me know how it goes

Maytag washer MAH 5500bww seems to run OK, but it does not pump out all the water(pumps out some) at the end of the cycles, churns remaining water during spin

Open the rear panel and remove the drain pump and clean it.
If there is nothing in the pump, check the drain motor for 18 ohms with a volt/ohm meter.
Not 18 ohms, replace the motor.

I have a maytag neptune front end washer. model #

hi..
First clean out your outlet filter. If this does not work, open up behind and tighten all points where wires are joined; due to vibrations these might have come loose. Plug off the wall first!!..

Won't Spin

This is joyce
Go to Maytag.com and put in your model # and download manuel and this will show you every part on your machine, then you can see if you can fix it or not, or just simply straight wire it. which is what a lot of people have done, I dont know if yours can be done this way. this is a rather newer unit. the assembly is not that exspensive if you do it yourself probl less than $100.00
hope this works

Neptune washer

If the water is draining out o.k. then either there is no signal from the water level pressure switch, no signal from the control board or a problem with the Spin windings.
