Hi Dale..
It sounds like you have a leaky inlet valve assembly. The part number is 421029P and is easy to replace. You can get one here:

SOURCE: fisher & paykel washing machine fault codes

I have a Fisher & Paykel GW609AU Smartdrive Excellence 6.5 Washing Machine that would start then stop then start then stop a few more times before eventually beeping.
I fixed it by bypassing(joined the white and yellow wire) the trip out switch which is located under the control module(one screw to remove). Now it Works.

sounds like a size error . when you changed the display did you size your machine to the new display module?did you get the re-size set of instructions with the new display board? ring up where you brought the display from and i"m sure they can help. if not reply back and i will guide you thru it.

If it is really loud and noisy when on spin it will almost certainly be worn or rusty bearings. Workshop job to dismantle and replace the parts.

Black spots and smears on clothes from DRYER (not washing machine

Sounds as if your going for a spin. Not really here is where the problem could be. 1 the bearing on the mchine is going bad. Since the bearing is sealed with its own lubrication the seal has blown seeping the lubrication into the machine one the temp is right to cause the oil to flow. How is this possible you ask? it is possibly flowing down the drum as the drum rotates and entering the dryer from the front of the drum. I would remove the back of the dryer and inspect the area and if all is right with the stars you may not have to take that spin

Good Luck

Dave
