How to factory reset a symbol mc40 - Symbol Computers & Internet

If your MC3300 scanner is frozen on a white background with a blue Motorola symbol and says MC33X series, you can try a soft reset to see if that resolves the issue. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Hold down the power button until the scanner turns off.
2. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to turn the scanner back on.

If the scanner is still frozen after attempting a soft reset, you may need to perform a factory reset. Please note that performing a factory reset will erase all data on the device and return it to its default settings. To perform a factory reset on the MC3300 scanner, follow these steps:

1. Press and hold the power button and the volume down button simultaneously.
2. Keep holding both buttons until the scanner vibrates and the Motorola logo appears.
3. Release both buttons.
4. Use the volume buttons to navigate to the "Factory Reset" option, and then press the power button to select it.
5. Confirm that you want to perform a factory reset by selecting "Yes" using the volume buttons and pressing the power button to confirm.
6. Wait for the scanner to reset and restart. This may take a few minutes.

If a factory reset does not resolve the issue, you may need to contact Motorola's customer support for further assistance.

Plug the supplied charger in to the TP and into the wall. Then hold the power button and the button at the bottom of the screen simultaneously. After about 10 - 15 seconds the TP reboots.

Hold down the Power Button and Home Button at the same time.
If you would like to reset to factory settings then plug into your computer.
If you do not want to reset to factory settings be sure NOT to have it plugged in when holding down the Power Button and Home Button (simultaneously) until the apple symbol appears. When the apple symbol appears release the power button and home button and allow it to boot up

If you'd rather not wait the time for the iPod to reinstate then reset to factory settings and you can use the iPod again sooner...
To reset it factory settings.
Plug iPod into your computer. Press and hold the Power Button and Home Button at the same time. It will power off, but don't let go. The apple symbol will come up, but still don't let go. You will then see the symbol to connect to iTunes.
Let go and follow steps to restore to factory settings.
The iPod return to life but you will need to download all you applications and music/videos

Hi, can you send me more information please, its sound like you want to reset the unit to factory defaults.If so you need the Clean Boot SD Card downloadable form Motorola.

This works with devices having physical home button

1. Press the power button and the home button together for a while, long enough until the screen appears with Android bot and a progress bar which shows that it's formatting the internal memory. With NO physical HOME button:-


2. In case your device does not have a physical home button, press the power button and both the volume keys together for few seconds.


3. Press gently the "reset pin-hole" present generally on a side of Tablet. Use a clip-pin or similarly fine thing to gently push inside to reset your device to factory settings.

Note: I Use My Tablet SUNBERRY, and reset my Tablet
Turn Off your Tablet and then
Press Power + Volume Down (Press up Factory menu Show)

If you use Android 2.2 (Froyo)
Press Wipe data / Factory Reset -> Yes, Delete ALL user data -> if Finish press Reboot Now

Hi Sam,

Probably requires a re-install of the OS via SD Card.

Get the required files and hold 1 + 9 and click the red power button which will reset the device, then hold the left barcode scanner trigger to load bootloader and run the files from the SD Card.

There is probably an rule set on the scanner from the previous user. To be sure that you are not using any old settings. I would suggest to reset it to factory settings.

The scanner is now in factory settings and you can configure it as you need.
