SOURCE: Whirlpool energy smart water heater

Two flashes means that the high limit temperature has been reached. Once this happens, the temperature control system will shut off. Make sure that all element access doors are in place. Push the "Push to Reset" button to restart the temperature control system. The water heater will self test for ten minutes before it will start to heat. If you get the 2 flashes again then you may need to replace one or both elements. Each element should measure 5-25 ohms.

The "thermostat" is the knob marked "Temperature Control". Make sure that the operating mode is set to 1,2 or 3.

SOURCE: No hot water

The code # 11 is a code that warns of "no ignition" and the causes of this error code are too many to list. I would suggest that a qualified tech. perform a diagnostic test and repair.

SOURCE: insinkerator hot water heater takes a long time to dispense water

It may have mineral deposit buildup on the inside. You will need to consult your maintenance manual to see how to flush the unit and clear it of deposits. You can also contact Insinkerator for the information as well. You can use vinegar to clean it just like you would a coffee pot. Take the inlet supply off and using a funnel pour the vinegar in and turn the unit on.

SOURCE: Noritz tankless water heater not producing hot water

I called Noritz error code 16 is a overheat problem. Noritz say's to flush your coil with vinegar or CLR.
Use a small pump to recirculate the CLR or vinegar through the system for 45 minutes and flush with fresh water. This worked for me.

SOURCE: how to correct error code C-7 on my RTG-74PVN Rheem Pronto

I had the same problem and called the manufacturer. The error code C-8 was followed by the number 76. They told me to disconnect the thermostat/digital display from the main unit. This was fairly simple to do by removing the front panel. The unit works steady now without shutting down after a few minutes. The help desk told me that the main circuit board needs to be replaced for the unit to work with the display and that they would mail me one asap. At least we have hot water again.

Whirlpool/Honeywell hot water heater light flashes 5 then 7 times and won't light. Burner is clean and all contacts are good. Out of warranted.

7 flashes: Gas control valve might be bad.
4 flashes: FV overheat, clean air intake.
Soot indicates clogged air intake slowed combustion venting possibly causing overheating and lockout. Clean air intake screen located on bottom of unit.

Should the red lights be flashing or be on steady

A solid light is what you actually want.
If you have a blinking light, the unit is unable to keep up with the flow of water.
Slowly turn on the hot water for your bathtub until the light starts to blink to find your limit. in other words your tankless heater is too small for your needs.
The 24 model is more for houses with showers or slower flow.
The 36 or higher model has 3 sets of heaters to be used with a bath, higher flow.

7-25-11. Purchased Reliance 909 model 950 GKRT 200 natural gas hot water heater. 7-31-11, installed said hot water heater according to instructions and code, filled with cold water and checked for gas and...

The problem requires looking at manual and service handbook, except handbook doesn't show most recent water heater.
My first check point would be gas supply, and then vent draft, and then air supply.
Take off front cover and try lighting again to make sure air supply is not problem.
Review lighting instructions.
If there is no gas, and gas is turned ON, then gas control valve is suspect.
