I know of four places that deal in Panasonic parts and they are all on-line!
Number one is Grandata, 2 is Willow Vale, 3 is CPC.
The fourth one I have just checked on and they have the upper cylinder unit in stock at £47.99 plus P&P!
And they are Curry's Partmaster.
You might want to try the others just in case they do it cheaper, but I find that Panasonic heads tend to be all around that sort of price.

Testimonial: "Super helpful - would not have known where to source this information. And an answer so quickly! Many thanks."

SOURCE: nv fj630 can't power up

Had the same problem with my one. After a lot of time spent testing etc and finding no low volts of any value present and looking on the web, I found that Panasonic tend to use a similar design of power supply for a lot of models and there appears to be, after a number of years in use, a weak link in the design/use with the voltage regulator. For this model, the regulator generic part number is STRG 6352 and the Panasonic part no is C5HACZZ00002. In the UK it is available from:-
http:/www.chsinteractive.co.uk/electrical-components/misc/nvfj620b-c5haczz00002-ic-pana.htm
If you need a service manual for this model, which is helpful for checking things/disasembly/assembly, you can obtain a free one from:-
http://www.reptips.dk/Reptips/NV-FJ620.pdf
As a note the panasonic replacement from chs came with the pins bent correctly, so it fitted directly after I had cut the old one out.

Best of luck!

I have a Panasonic nv- vhs 1 my granddon was playing with the remote and by accident a button was pressed on set up mode and it had a message set up remote to match settings i dont know what buttons were...

The best approach I think might be to restore the factory settings. This should clear any problems caused by the wrong settings being added. The manual should explain how to do this.
If you don't have the user manual you can download it for free from the Panasonic website.
