SOURCE: picture error message on olympus 1200

Sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Menu button - right arrow to setup - right arrow to format option. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the Picture error message and the card can be used again. The picture error message indicates that this image is now corrupted and unable to be viewed through the camera.

SOURCE: Olympus Stylus 710 Problem with lens

Turn on camera. Blurry pic. Wirly grinding noises. Blue screen.
Codes on blue screen:

5 f 0 8
5 e 0 2
5 f 0 8
5 e 0 2

Sometimes smacking the **** out of it fixes it. Today it doesn't seem to do the trick any more.

SOURCE: Olympus Stylus 1030 SW display not working after being in water

I just had a similar problem. I am not sure how it was fixed, but it works again - at least for now.

I had the camera on and was taking pictures when the screen went dark. Same as you describe, it takes pictures, flash works, LED, works, everything but the display. I plugged it into my computer with the USB adapter to see if I can salvage what is on the card and the diplay lights up. Tried several variations, but when the cable is connected to the computer (didn't have to be connected to the computer) the screen worked. Unplug, no display. I spun the settings button a couple of times. I accidentally took a couple of short videos and pictures that I deleted. I unplugged the camera and powered down again (tried that before). Power up and the screen is fine.

Again I have no idea what fixed it or why the display worked with the cable plugged in. It might have been related to the videos or some setting that I had slipped into (thought the display button never worked or changed anything).

Hopefully something in there helps or someone can explain what I did.

I have an Olympus, stylus 1030 SW camera.I saved some of my pictures to "My Favorites" then deleted them off my card. I was wondering if there is a way to transfer the my pictures back on to the...

If I have understood this correctly then you only saved shortcuts to the pictures in which case you have lost the pictures. There is a chance of recovering them with software BUT DON'T CONTINUE TO USE THE CARD, as you will lessen the chance of any recovery. Take the card out of the camera and place in card reader. Then use software from http://www.pcinspector.de/default.htm to scan the card and recover what you can.Make the save directory a folder on your hard drive and NOT the card.
(If I am incorrect and you actually copied the pictures to your computer then I apologise for alarming you. In that case if you have then it is just a matter of navigating to the directory they are saved in on the PC, copying them (right click copy) and pasting them back into the directory on the card that stores the pictures, DCIM/olympus etc-just click through the directories till you find the pix.)

I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

Format Stylus 500

Press >menu< button, select >mode< select >card< select >format< select >yes< press >ok< (menu button)
During formatting DO NOT open battery cover, card cover, or plug in AC adapter.
Make sure you have all your files saved on your computer or elsewhere before formatting your card, since all images will be deleted.#
Hope that helps

My files goes to temporary files, so everytime i open my computer all pictures gone and other files

Hi,
The most common source of this sort of problem is that you are opening documents directly from your email and then working on them.
when you do that they are saved into the temporary files location, not a good place to save them.
What you need to do is when you open a document or picture from an email, immediately save it to your Documents folder so that you can access it again in future.
