SOURCE: EMERSON DVD PLAYER CLICKING NOISE..DISC ERROR MESSAGE..HELP!!!
Had a similar problem. Called for support, but was told needed new reader. I took off the cover and manually slid the reader mechanism back and forth a few times. After doing this, tried another dvd and it worked. Apparently it was stuck and not able to move to read the dvd. Give this a try.

The compressor may not have to be changed it could be the relay that is bad, not properly starting the compressor. The relay is attached to the compressor where the wires go to it. Remove it, Shake it, If it sounds like little rocks are inside (it rattles) than it is bad. Let me know what you find

Hi skald89, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
you sure you have the model # right? can't find anything in repair manuals with that#
Yes it is the correct model number. I attached a picture of the label and now its gone
That unit has no parts available. With that in mind the most common point of failure is the compressor. However there may be a capacitor on the outside of the compressor that controls how it starts. IF there is, that part is probably bad. They are easy to replace and not expensive. So look at the unit underneath for a large metal case that has wires and tubes coming out of it. The wires may connect to a can like object. That object would be a capacitor. There are letters and numbers on them. Before you take any wires off it, TAKE A PICTURE OF IT WITH YOUR CAMERA and make sure the unit is UNPLUGGED
