Internet settings on hp 15 -f387 - HP Computers & Internet

awwww maaaaaaan never use that thing! It is nothing but trouble. If you need to reset your G4 get a repair/reinstall disk or flashdrive off eBay. Sets it up brand new for less then $15 if you look hard enough. Many uses too.

hp 15 is not the full model name:
example #1, the service tag is read first, then told what it is. (wild example #1)

BIOS PW lost. (next time do not use this unless work for CIA/DOD ,etc)

HP has fix, call them, online lots of $scalpers, sell it.

The year the HP laptop was made also changes the answer.
Here are the historical evolution of HP PW.:!
1: long ago jumpers on the motherboard.(kids stuff)
2: then coded, eeprom PW chip used, and backdoor PW that HP tells you after you enter PW blank 3 times.
you see code only you have and HP tells the new PW.
3: then TPM chips and UEFI, the new age. (hard nut )
only HP can cure those PERIOD. Not scalpers..


4: also what you turned on in bios can also make this worse. like fingerprint logins, etc...
I own and HP8540w that can get in 3 ways. 2010 made.

HP moved the service tags many times
easy see on bottom then on laptops, in the battery well battery out. and last no tags at all , only seen in BIOS screen 1. (now locked out ouch)

unplug network cable turn machine off and back on if code disappears you have a bad print job delete all jobs from queue

Just a thought...got to Start->Control Panel->Power Options

What are the settings? Is anything shutting down after a short period of time?

When it's disconnected, can you manually reconnect? Have you tried that before rebooting?

What kind of router are you using, have you modified it's settings in any way? I have some other thoughts, but maybe you shoudl answer these questions first.
