SOURCE: Clicks but crt does not turn on

The Tv clicks and CRT comes on for a second before it goes into the protection shutdown. The LED flashes 6 times and sometimes 7 times. I checked the voltage accross IC501 as suggested in other posts and one of the votages is higher thatn it should be. thesymptom for the 6 LEd flashes suggest overscurrent and bad IC 504. I don't know how to meassure the voltage on the IC504 however as it has 4 prongs instead of three. My question is if there is something that may be causing this. Please help! I can offer you the Service manual for the KV series TV in return... you seem to be a techanical person so answer is purely technical. Clicks but crt does not turn on 1 check whether power supply out put is ok.by disconnecting h/output 2 if it is ok check hor. section that is eht is ok or not as without eht crt will not glow. check crt supply &loose connection in crt base. regards thanks

SOURCE: Technics SUV500 problem in stand-by

The problem is not the relay. The unit is trying to start, but detecting a problem and shuting down again. Check the output transistors for a shorted condition.

SOURCE: monitor light blinking

The monitor is probably on protection.

To start unplug monitor from power and from computer and test computer with different monitor to find out if it is monitor or computer fault.

If it is computer fault and no video signal , then test:

  • Video cable.
  • Video adapter on PC (sometimes integrated on motherboard)
  • Motherboard.

If it is monitor fault , then the monitor is on protection.

When on protection you keep having a flashing led on front of the monitor , and monitor turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occurr are a blown capacitor on power board, faulty inverter board, faulty input board, or a fault on LCD Digital Controller board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing statebecause of the video cable.

Try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

SOURCE: TV does not turn on

On older Sony, sometimes a power surge causes the set to be in shut down mode. Try unplugging for 5 minutes and then plug in and try. This many times will fix.

Lg crt tv ic use ic tda11105ps/n3/3/af7 power led 3time blinking not relise stand by mode

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, or the LED light stationery; the main board is faulty.

We have no picture or sound. The sttandby light blinks 7 times then a pause and blinks 7 more times. it keeps repeating this. This is a Sony Trintron TV

Hello
Seven blinkings of stanbylight in Sony sets denotes a High-Voltage shutown problem. Not means the high line voltage, but the fault inside the tv itself. You haven't mentioned about the model number of your TV, yet I'm going to describe you considering this as a standard Sony problem.
The fault is mainly due to the internal power supply regulator section in your TV. It is now supplying voltage more than normal that it is meant for, as a result the EHT [Extra High Tension] voltage to the final anode of the picture tube goes higher than normal, and the microcomputer Ic inside your Tv detects this voltage difference and giving you the fault symptom in 7 continous blinks. That Ic is so programmed such, it will blink with certain times according to the fault comes inside, and helps us to locate the faulty section without opening the TV.
As I said above the fault in your TV lies on the power regulation section. You just open your TV and locate that section, which can be easly located as the main power just goes to that portion, and there will be a regulator normally Sony uses STR***** type IC regulators, which will be screwed onto a metal heatsink to radiate heat from it while it works. These will heat up to 80 degree C, while working, and the heat generated by this ic can cause loose solderings on its legs. You resolder its leg solderings, and suspected solderings around it, by applying a little more solder. In most cases this will resolve the problem. Ok.

Its blinking 4 times then solid then 4 blinks etc there is no picture can you help

4 blinks means vertical section is faulty. check the supply of vertical ic +/- 15 volts if present. if these voltages are present, re-solder or replace vertical ic.If not, check for faulty fusible resistors and rectifier diode near fly-back transformer.

Hi,
The standby light LED BLINK is in specific numbers, please count that how many time LED BLINKS in specific time and in specific numbers like 1 time 2 time 3 times etc, every blink has its area of fault which processing IC detects, Therefore please count and let me know the number of blinking stand by light and then i can tell you the area of fault and its solution.
Hope you will understand my sayings, if need more clarification write in comments.

TV does not turn on. Stand By LED blinks 4 times and pauses and blinks 4 times again Tv will not turn on...when plugged in the red stand by light flashes 4 times...you can hear the tv turn on but a black...

Try to remove the vertical IC sometimes it become Shorted causing the B+ to drop. after removing try to switch on back check the B+ if ok and the LED not blinking then change the vertical IC.

Stand by light blinks 6 times, wont power on

Here you find sony blinking codes

SIX Blinks---No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking selfdiagnosis
function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.

SEVEN Blinks---High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k
and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply
regulation and horizontal circuits.

ABOUT PHILIPS TELEVISION

The 8V at pin 36 won't show unless there is oscillation, the primary voltage pin is pin 10, 8v. Don't mind me asking, you have checked the B+, right? Because the blinking LED is often because of power supply problems. And if that's okay, desolder the horizontal driver output legs and connect an LED to find if it is oscillating, if it does, forget the ic part and move on with the FBT and things. Good luck.
