You need to take your TV set to Service Center, because the inner parts, especially the flyback transformer, been damaged or worse, the connector broken, that's why you can hear the noise.
The vertical output transistor, or a component in that circuit has gone out. Often an electrolytic capicator in this circuit will fail causing this problem. Sometimes you will have catastrophic failures which will take out the transistor, cap, and resistors in that circuit. But none are expensive parts really. But it takes an experienced hand to replace/test them.
Your TV set may have settings for picture size ratios but also if you have cable or sattelite service, they too may have these settings. Try both TV and cable remocons for proper adjustment
well tuners are being made smaller (and there is more cold solder in some points due to heat) so i would look up a new tuner for that tv...and if you know how to solder ,do it yourself it will be cheaper
You could have a bad spitter or a fitting could have come loose.First thing to do is to take another TV set right next to the bad TV set and plug in the cable to the other TV set to see if the same issue happens. If it does there is a cable issue. If it does not have a snowy picture, then you should call the store where you purchaced the set for exchange or service. Good Luck
You already hit the nail in the head, the problem might be the actual conector loose inside the set or the tuner has loose conections to the main board, the shell of the tuner is the ground make sure the conections are solid,if you are familiar with tv service this will help but if you are not too familiar be safe and call for help, right now it should not be expensive.
