You didn't mention the model of the set so I'm somewhat guessing as to the type of set it is. When you say a faint picture is it lacking brightness or washed out?

This set is known for backlight failure, you can test the voltages on the plug that goes into the power board to make sure you didn't get a bad replacement board but I'm guessing you have some bad lamps in the panel

Your problem is inside the TV - probably the video driver board or components of it. You also could have a dead fluorescent tube - that is the part that illuminates the screen. LCD displays require a light source. If this is an LED TV then you need a video driver board inside the back of the TV - if you don't know what you are doing, DO NOT OPEN THE BACK OF ANY TV. Take it to a repair shop. If it is under warranty, turn it in for service.

SOURCE: When I turn the tv on, no picture and only the stand by timer

Sound to me like your video amp failed on the C board. This board connects directly to the back of the CRT tube. It actually has the letter C on it. The video amp is IC702, PN: TDA6108JF. You can locate a vendor for the part by googling the provided PN. This amp is fairly cheap and not too difficult to replace if you can use a soldering iron. However, you must apply heatsink compound or it will over heat and fail more quickly. You should be able to get a tube from the same vendor as the amp. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.

most LG have a "vacation switch" on the bottom right hand side of the set very near that standby light.

it is placed poorly, where you can accidently click when grabbing the TV to move it or swivel it.

it is a toggle switch, a "master power" switch.

you may have bumped it to the off position. flip the switch, your standby light will come back on.

No picture on my LG TV. Issue is either the LEDs or the LED driver on the Power Supply. LED+ sections on the Power Supply [62810801] give 79.3 volts. Is this a normal or a below power reading?

That is the right amount of voltage the issue is when one or more of the individual LED lights fail, the current changes and the power supply senses it and shuts down.

I have a 2-1/2 year old LG 60LB7100 TV. When I turn the TV on I get the Lg logo and sound but then I loose picture.

The back light driver can be incorporated in either the power supply board or the main board (model specific). Contact these guys and they will make sure you get the correct part. TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy

Lg tv power light comes on but screen stays blank

If you can't see a faint picture with the flashlight then the T-con board is gone. If you can see a faint picture, then the led driver or ballasts for the back lights quit. You can get parts from here: TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy

Lg 42" tv not displaying screen image

The t-con board controls the picture. To test it shine a flash light on the screen abd see if you can see an image when the TV is on. If you do then the T-con board is OK. Look at the back light ballast board (sometimes is part of the power supply board) If you see no movement or a dim picture with the flash light, then the T-con board is gone. No picture only sound on samsung tv

Test it this way. With the TV on and receiving a program, shine a flashlight on the screen If you can observe a faint picture then the T-Con board is working correctly but the back light ballast is not. Some models incorporate the ballasts on the power supply board. Others are on a separate board. Go here to get the correct parts to fix your TV TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy

With no stand by light, you are not getting power.Unplug TV and check fuse on power supply. You will need a meter to look for shorted components and possibly leaky/bulged capacitors that are killing your power supply. flickering could be part of the bad power supply or possibly a problem with YSustain area of your TV

Plasma tv shuts off and on every 1-2 minutes

not likely to be power supply but faint chance----more likely main board or something related to it---no harm having the power supply examined and voltages on it tested.
