My Fresh Air Ecoquest Model 2.1 is probably 10-15 years old. We clean it regularly but lately it has started emitting a very fine black "powder" that gets on the baseboards, floor, door panels, etc.

i have a ecoquest, what you need to do is push the reset button AFTER cleaning. and the preform cleaning will go away.

I recently fixed one with the same problem. Remove the rear cover where the switch is mounted. (Take off the filter first) The wires have enough length that it is not necessary to remove them. Use a blow dryer and blow into the opening to remove dust and moisture from the circuit boards. Either one will make it start and stop. Make sure not to get it too hot or too close. Good Luck. There is a problem with the main circuit board. Ecoquest will replace the circuit board. If the Fresh Air is still under warranty you have to pay shipping. If it is not under warranty, you'll have to pay all of the repair cost. You'll need to call to get an RMA number before you send it in, either way.
