* Contact Netflix for your region for specific information.
***The following is for information only.***
* Netflix may not have picked up your specific show or new season. It usually comes available only after it's been broadcast first. (for those shows that are broadcast and not 'premium' programing.)
* Some programs are exclusive and require the season to be completed prior to release by Netflix.
* If Netflix is the producer of the show then they may have it available to customers prior to releasing it to the other channels.

What are "significant episodes?"

Those are just episodes which are heavily story-line centered. These are one's that you have to watch to understand the show. E.g. the Pilot or In Which We Meet Mr Jones ect.. Some Episodes are more pointed around the single story in that episode.

Which of the episodes has extended versions?

During its original broadcast, the episode "Jerry's Painting" ran for an extended 40 minutes rather than the usual 30 minutes because it followed "Goodbye, Michael", an extended episode of The Office that featured the final appearance of Steve Carell as a regular cast member

How come the DVDs aren't released in episode order?

It's because of the copyright issues for the movies featured on the show. When movies were featured on the MST3K during its original broadcast, Best Brains (the production company that made the series) would negotiate the terms in which they were allowed to use each movie. Generally they were allowed the complete rights to show the movie on TV but they didn't always get the rights to release the movie on video. Since the idea of releasing the entire series on home video didn't seem very likely during the days of VHS, this was not a major concern for Best Brains. It wasn't until the advent of DVD that the idea of releasing all of MST3K on home video even seemed viable. This also remains an issue for modern streaming services, since TV rights don't carry over to streaming rights. Today, Shout Factory, who releases MST3K on DVD, has to renegotiate the rights to each movie with the copyright holders of the original film and pay them a license fee. Some episodes may have license terms that are too expensive or simply unavailable for Shout Factory to purchase, and this makes releasing MST3K in order nearly impossible.

Is there really a Pirate Summit?

No, that was a mis-translation in an earlier subtitle version of one episode. It was actually a figure of speech that goes "See you at the top" where "top" can easily be mistaken for "summit" in Japanese.

How can two 2-Hour movies (totalling 4 hours) have more information than 6 hour long episodes?

The structuring of a Television episode is different than a movie. The pacing is different as well. The only way to hold more information in 6 hour long episodes than 4 hours worth of a movie would be for every episode to end abruptly and begin right where the last one left off. Which just doesn't work well for TV. Every episode has to have an arc. A beginning, a climax and an end. While it's not uncommon to have a cliffhanger ending it is still done to a certain structure.

Why are there only three episodes per season/series?

Unlike American television, where even premium-cable series typically have at least 10 episodes, British television has many recurring series that have only a handful of episodes. Highly regarded shows such as "Foyle's War" and "Luther," for example, have only two to four episodes a year. More than that, the people behind "Sherlock" treat their work as something different from simply making extra-long television programs. In an August, 2011 press release from BBC One, "Sherlock" co-creator Steven Moffat responded to suggestions that there should be more than three episodes in each season/series by saying, "We think of them as films because they are ninety minutes long and once we knew we weren't doing hour long episodes they needed to be on that sort of scale. They have to have the size and weight of a movie."

Which episode will Neil DeGrasse Tyson pick as his Emmy episode and why?

Episode 1. It introduces all the important themes and concepts of the series, and invokes most of the visual vocabulary used for storytelling that would appear in the rest of the 13 episodes.

Is it true that there are different versions of the pilot?

The pilot is about 10 minutes longer than all other episodes, at least in the original version. However, it was shortened for the international broadcasts to have the same length as the other episodes, as was the case with The Walking Dead, for example. These cuts concerned the plot of the episode. Additionally, there is also a lot of alternative or completely new footage.
