SOURCE: Amp powers on but sub does not come on

I would double-check your RCA's on the amplifier. You should hear a thud if you unplug them. If not they are either not hooked up or defective.

SOURCE: how to wire 2 dvc subs to a orion 2150sx ? dont

what impedence are the voicecoils?
Dual 4 - Dual 2 - Dual 1 ??

Orion SX / GS / HCCA amp Wiring guide:

Orange = Right Positive
Black/ Orange = Right Negative
Yellow = Left Positive
Black/ Yellow = Left Negative
Blue = 1+1

Bridging of SX or HCCA Amps:
1. Use the Orange wire for Positive.
2 Use the Black/ Yellow wire for Negative
3. Push "in" the Mono Button
That amplifier is only 4ohm mono stable - so assuming the subs are dual 4 ohm voicecoils...

First wire both in Parallel Independently So each subwoofer is now a 2 ohm load. (combine + and + - and- on both subwoofers)

Now Take a positive on one voicecoil of sub #1 and attach to amplifier+(orange)

Take a - on that same subwoofer and attach it to a + on the OTHER subwoofer.

Finally, take a - from the second woofer to the amplifier -(black/yellow)

Now you have a 4 ohm load on your bridged channels.

SOURCE: Hi. I got a Bose Acoustimass

Do you have any plan to use the Bose Acoustimass 20 sub/amp in it original form?
Please double check the pins count.
Popular Bose unit has 8,9 or 13 pins.
=====

A Bose third party vendor does sell a direct cable from the Bose Acoustimass 20 to two RCA and 1/8" stereo jack.
You can open the link HERE
Full site HERE
I'm sure you can find other cable vendor at a lower price.
======
I do not recommend you to open the Bose Acoustimass 20 and get the two set of wires out of the box.
It may cause damage to the casing.
======
On the DIN plug.
With notch / dimple facing the ground.
From let to right
1 = RED negative
2 = White negative
3 = RED positive
4 = White positive
5 center = un-use.

Please use an ohm meter to verify the resistance between1 to 4 and 2 to 4 before you start hooking up to the amp.

Please keep my posted on the project via email.

HOW CAN I CONECT THE BOSE TO MY YAMAHA AMP THE ONLY WAY TO CONECT THE BOSE IS TO BANANA INPUTS ON MY AMP AND THEY ARE FRONT SPEAKERS BUT THE AMP HAS A SUB OUTPUT

To enable the full potential of a SUB for Yamaha DSP A5 ,

you need to have

a separate amplifier for your Bose Acoustimass System.

The SUB out should be connected to an active subwoofer.

Can i hook up an amp to my bose system ...

O assume you are wanting to add a sub as bose systems are already amplified. The short answer is ues, however most bose systems require special interface harnesses and may require complex wiring. This is best left to a qualified mobile electronics shop.

I have a sony explod an want to hook up the sub that came stock in my truck ( 04 chevy ss) its a bose sub. an dont want to run a amp, can it be done and how?

You can do it, but you'll need to use one of the outputs from the stereo, i.e. right rear/left rear. Disconnect the exsisting wiring to the sub. You'll need to run the two output wires from the stereo straight to the sub.

Gotta 07 Denali and in the past when I put my system in any of my vehicles, I just throw my line converter on the rear speakers and all is good. My question is can you still do that with the factory Bose...

Hello russet327,

There should be no difference in the signal on the speakers themselves. It's simply an AC sine wave, varying in amplitude and frequency.

There might be a phase difference that could affect the sound of your subs, but most amps will allow you to adjust or at least select the proper phase. I'd recommend wiring the LOC the same as you have always done it. "Grabbing" a signal before it gets to the factory amp could be even more problematic because the signal will most likely be at too low of a level for your LOC, the wiring may be shielded, and the impedance will be an input impedance in the range of 20-25K ohms instead of the 4 ohms that the LOC is expecting.

Hope this helps.

Bose Lifestyle 50 - connection to a non-bose amplifier

The 2 system are completely different your is low level input and its is having only 2 input L and R when those signal they get inside your sub it process through an DSP ( Digital Signal Processor ) and become 5 output to yours satellite cube speakers
The AM6 or 10 are high level input connected direct to any output of any AMP from those signal they convert down to low frequency for sub woofer
