If you didn't get a mac version of the HD writer with your camera I don't think there is any.
But
You can also transfer AVCHD clips to a Mac running OS X 10.4 and above using iMovie 08.
You need to get iMovie 08 which is the first version of iMovie capable of handling the complex AVCHD transport stream.

Hi There, few things to follow:
1. Install an update from Panasonic website at www.panasonic.net (This is a pack of 4 files you need to download 1 by 1)
2. Plug your camcorder to the back usb and not in the front port.
3. Disable your Resident Shield on your anti-virus.
Done!

I have same problem. I have Panasonic HDC-TM20 video camera. It came with HDWriter ae 1.0 software. I have ACER alptop, running XP. Everything was running fine for months, but now I cannot transfer from the video camera to the hard disk on my computer. It attempts to do it, but then it just does nothing for ages. CPU usage shoots up high. When I kill the application, it does die, but process continues so I need to re-boot mt laptop before I can load it again. Is these any one out there who has resolved this issue?
