This could be due to air trapped inside. Unscrew the filter and dump out the water into the sink. Re-install the filter and check water flow. Do this several times until you get enough flow.

SOURCE: Slow water flow from GE SmartWater under sink water filter.

I solved the problem! The system's manifold (the plastic base you put the filter in) has small black conical shape button. When you tight the filter in, one of the two small triangle-shaped cams (located close to the filter's central hole) pushes the manifold's button, and this opens the water flow. The problem is that the cams are too low and do not push the button all the way in. Take a pliers and squeeze (not too much!) the cams, so they will raise a little: it will be enough to push the button to open the flow completely.

SOURCE: Water dispenser slow flow after filter change

I had the same problem when switching to Pur filters. There are two curved wedges inside the end that hold the filter away from its connection. It turned out that they were just a little to short, putting the end of the filter to close to the connection, and that's all it took to restrict the water flow. I went to the hardware store and found a thin plastic washer that would add some space (it was for a faucet diverter of some kind, thinner than a dime). It added just enough space for good water flow. Another benefit was it helped stop the icemaker line from freezing. A simpler solution might be to make sure to get factory-original filters.

SOURCE: Fridge water filter replaced now flows very, very slow

Hi .. first I would try and eliminate the filter as the problem. Remove the filter and try the water again. If the water flows strong, then the filter is the problem. If the water stills sputters and is low flow, then there is a partial blockage in the internal tubing , or a problem with the supply. If you roll the fridge out to get at the suppl. you could shut it off and disconnect the supply tube from the fridge, then turn the water on slowly to check the flow at the supply. If the flow is good there , then the blockage is internal.

LG WF T1330TP. When it fills up with water, the flow is very slow. Checked the filters, the water pressure and solenoid, all clean and working fine. Where else could the problem be?

There are a few other potential causes for slow water flow in a washing machine:
  1. Clogged or partially clogged water inlet valve: The water inlet valve is responsible for controlling the flow of water into the washing machine. If it is clogged or partially clogged, it can cause a reduction in water flow.
  2. Washing machine pump: The pump is responsible for moving water through the washing machine. If it is damaged or not functioning properly, it can cause a reduction in water flow.
  3. Water supply hose: The hose that supplies water to the washing machine may be clogged or damaged, which could cause a reduction in water flow.
  4. The washing machine itself: There could be an issue with the internal components of the washing machine that is causing the slow water flow.
If you have checked the filters, water pressure, and solenoid and they are all functioning properly, you may want to try checking the water inlet valve, pump, water supply hose, and the washing machine itself for any issues that could be causing the slow water flow.

Can the water filter housing be the cause of slow water when the filter is in place?

Even a new filter will reduce the flow some what. I think the pressure to the filter is low or restricted . that will cause a reduction in flow, no it should not leak, check on the seal.

Side by side Maytag frig.dispenser water is slow. model MZD2665HEB I changed water filter .water flow is slower than normal.

When a water filter is replaced alot of air gets compressed in the plumbing and the filter which will cause a temporary reduction in the flow rate until the air is bled out through normal use.

Water overflows from icemaker & freezes in the freezer. Makes three ice cubes in a day & the water is extremely slow to fill glass from freezer door!

If both the water in door and ice maker are experienceing slow water problems the common point is the water supply itself.

This can be caused by:
1. Water supply shut off valve is partially closed or blocked with debris.
a. TURN water supply OFF
b. Remove the water line from the rear of the refrigerator ABOVE the in line filter (if one is installed)
c. Place the removed line into a bucket.
d. Turn on water supply and check flow. It should fill an 8 Oz glass in about 8 seconds.
If it passes this test then the water supply is fine. If it FAILS this test either cflear the obstruction in the line or replace the water supply valve from the house connection.

Test 2 (Water supply is OK
Reconnect water supply to external in-line filter (If installed) or water valve assy connection.
Your unit has a Verticle filter that if it is clogged will cause slow water flow.
Test water thru the door for the same amount of water flow. It should fill an 8 Oz glass in 10 seconds or less.
If it does ot do this then the VERTICAL internal water filter is clogged. (5 months or 500 Gallon change interval)
REPLACEMENT filter is PN LT500P but there are several like / suitable aftermarket replacements for the LT500P number.

As for the ice maker freezing up. There is only one cause for this and that is the water valve assy itself is bypassing water when it is supposed to be closed. The only remedy for this is to replace the water valve. They are not repairable.
The valve is available through sears parts direct:

Water flow of filter too slow

When was the last time you changed the water filter? If the filter is clogged from long usage it will slow down the water flow. Filters should be changed 6-12 months.

New water filter, very slow water dispensing

you have to reset the pressure stabilization feature in the water filter circuit before it will deliver a continuous flow of water . sometimes the directions are on the filter itself . if not , you'll have to look it up in your owner's manual or perhaps go online to obtain the information .
