Tv turns on for two seconds, shuts off, begins binking.

I can see the menu for about two seconds before it shuts down and starts blinking. It blinks 9 times, stops for a second, then starts over. Panasonic TC-26LX70

The problem is most likely a power supply related problem.
The TV is in protection mode right now. It's keeping the other parts inside the TV from being damaged by automatically turning itself OFF. The 9 blinks should be an error code for the problem with the power supply. I don't have the Service Manual for your TV model number to tell you what the code means and which part to replace. Every brand of TVs have a different meanings of the code.
If you have electronic experience, you can find a factory repair manual over the internet. Normally, it's called a Service Manual. It costs about less than $20.

My Mitsubishi Medallion tv stays on for about 10 minutes and then shuts down and won't turn back on until a period of time has passed. It is a rear projection tv about 9 years old. Can anyone help ex

When it shuts off and the green power light goes off, press both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set (not the remote) and hold both for about five seconds and release.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks and then 3 blinks and repeat it several times.

What is the error code?

First blinking green light tv would turn on for a few minutes then turn off, pushed reset button and unpluged but problem would continue now theres no sound no picture and just a steady red light. Please...

The red light is indicating the set has shut down for a specific reason. You can dtermine the reason by going to the sets front panel and pressing the menu button and the device/input button both in together and hold for 6 seconds. The light will switch and begin to blink a series of blinks( First number) and pause briefly then blink another number of blinks (second number) then it will repeat that same two digit blink code. Let me know the code and I will let you know what happened to shut the set down. Respond to this same post for assistance.

Model 556 F nergy saver - 2 yrs. - this yr ''shuts off'' binks I turn off then on to re-set. happens without power outages like every day now ???

Turn the power off. Hold down the up arrow, down arrow and Economy buttons all at the same time and hold for three seconds. A series of lights will start blinking. Write down what you see. You may have to do this procedure again because the codes blink fast. Look up the codes in your owners manual or post the codes again on fixya and we can get you a starting point where to look. I suspect a flame failure because of a dirty flame rod or debris lodged in the burner.

TV turns on, then turns itself off about 2 seconds later.

set has a self diagnostic---after set does shut down press and hold MENU AND DEVICE(INPUT) buttons on front of set for 5 seconds----if 2 blinks, a pause and 2 more blinks: this is short protection error code---The set does use 2 Stk394-250 and each is protected by a pico fuse in the power supply---if either fuse is blown the set will shut down(it detects no voltage or missing voltage;) It is not uncommon for a shorted IC to cause this problem; if you locate the STK's look carefully at the resistors around them---if any are discolored or burnt---you have found your problem.

I was watching it and it just shut off when i turn it on 3 seconds later it shuts off again

this set has a self diagnostic feature:

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;}

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ON FOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD “device” and “menu” buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protect the Convergence IC or IC’s is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergence IC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES AND THEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

TV turns on but turns itself off after short amounts of time

This set is equipped with LED diagnostics. Once it shuts down on the front of the set hold down the MENU and INPUT, (sometimes labeled DEVICE) buttons until the LED starts blinking a 2 blink sequence. For example one blink pause two blinks long pause and then repeats is the code for no problem. All of the fault codes begin with two blinks and then one through 4 blinks. I suspect that yours will be a 2 - 4 code because of loss of vertical sweep. Which is bad solder connections on the deflection yokes. A common problem with these units.
