What is a "hob"

suspect more than one problem. half grill not working may be due to half the element gone open circuit. the other problems could be due to an installation fault. many ovens have links in the connection box which have to be tightened down. this is often overlooked. look at the connection box or terminal strip to check. there is often a diagram of hoiw it should be done adjacent.

where the power goes in there should be fuse links on both sides if they all in then its the thermal fuse inside

hi chances are that the internal thermal cutout fuse has gone this fuse is situated on the right hand side of the cooker when you have taken the back plate off about half way down it has two wires attached to it and is screwed with a self tap on the right hand corner of the body of the cooker near the middle of the cooker. You can buy this part and have it delivered for about £6 so is a very cheap fix.

So have I, its been diagnosed by an engineer as a faulty master control board for the hob. I was quoted more that the price of the cooker to repair it. The cooker is just over three years old and hasn't had heavy use so I'm not thrilled!
