SOURCE: download india map in tomtom gps

There are no India maps for tomtom. For India maps you may use Mapking, SatNav or MapMyIndia (best maps but with lousy software).

SOURCE: After update screen just says Problem with map.

Hi, I am a complete ignoramus when it comes to this sort of thing but I am pretty sure that you have the same problem I have, I updated my GPS just like you did because, heck, that is what TOMTOM recommend and hey presto I wound up with an application 'core' of version 8.x trying to access a map with a version of 7.x. Doh! You would have thought the damn install app would figure this out and NOT install wouldn't you ? Great, I barely know how to turn on a computer and I have to deal with this ****! My GPS unit is a GO 720.
Anyway the options were to fess up $100 for the new version map - or, um, well, patch it myself :-)
At this point I decided that I would patch it myself as:  a) I hold TOMTOM completely responsible for buggering up my GPS without warning and  b) I NEED my GPS right now, not whenever TOMTOM get back to me with a reply to my query about why this happened
Here are the two links I used to patch my GPS, and yes it took a couple of hours to download and  sort it out.
http://www.gpsunderground.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2978
Where it says...
For have a working map you must:
- Patch your 'ttsystem' file and 'Tomtom Home' with this tool:
http://link-protector.com/711863/ > Just look Help
Password: demonfatal
- Use the Keygen for patch your map
Keygen for map :
http://rapidshare.com/files/187061869/KEYGEN.rar
Password : demonfatal

(Note I selected this map and it seems to work Australia_815_2086)
The new map would not work until I replaced my 'ttsystem' file with the one from the link below - dunno why.
http://www.gpsunderground.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3619
Remember to use TOMTOM Home to back up your current GPS settings/configuration in case you balls up the patching process - frankly I don't trust TOMTOM Home to do a good enough job so maybe in addition it would be a good idea to connect the GPS to your computer and use something like Acronis to create an image...
good luck

SOURCE: TomTom Go 720 GPS suddenly

These error's occur when units have cracked maps put on them.
When you update your tomtom device it will replace the cracked file with the original tomtom file.

these units on ebay are mainly refurbished units even tho they are in 'sealed' packaging, they opened your box, put cracked maps and sell the device for more then what they have paid for it.

Best to take it back to person you purchased it from.

avoid tomtom products from ebay, most of them have cracked maps.

Thanks,
Pabs

SOURCE: ERROR: 573/#https://home.tomtom.com/shop/onetimeDeviceUpdates: Er

Go to My Computer, then the TomTom drive and click explore. Move your Map folder to the desktop. Then, delete everything on the tomtom drive. Unplug it, plug it back in, and start up Tomtom HOME and install all updates, keep unplugging, plugging back in, and installing updates until there aren't any more updates. Then move your map folder back to where it was on your TomTom drive.

Please rate, Thank you!

I have a tomtom one n14644 I would like to update it and im not sure how

The usual way to update your TomTom GPS is using the TomTom HOME software that you download and installed on your computer/laptop. Then set up your TomTom account (using the TomTom HOME application) and registered your TomTom device (in that account) on the TomTom webiste
After that, connect your TomTom device to your computer/laptop (using the USB cable). Turn on the TomTom device, and touch the YES icon (on your TomTom screen) if it asks whether you'd like to connect to the computer.
You should be able to see the updates available for your TomTom device (on the TomTom HOME application). Select the updates you want and (download and) install them.
Recently TomTom has stopped providing software/map updates and/or support for certain (older) models of their TomTom GPS. If you see such a notice when you register your TomTom device, your option is to get a newer GPS model (you may even get an offer on the TomTom HOME screen), or you can continue to use your device without updating the software and/or maps until it becomes unhelpful, unreliable, etc.

Need to update Thailand map for finedrive

You can get the latest version of the map from the tomtom.com website . Select MAPS ... and choose THAILAND (from the AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND & Asia group of maps).
It's easier to buy a map than trying to update an old version

I want to download the latest upgrades for australia without paying mio their $79.00 . for that price i might as well buy a new gps

Unfortunately, the best and easiest way to update your maps would be to purchase the upgrade through mio. If you are looking for an illegal/pirated version of the update, you will have to do some heavy searching to find one. I quickly searched some potential sites for the australia maps, but I could not find what you are looking for. Unfortunately, mio is not the most popular GPS brand and free mio map updates are much more difficult to find than Garmin or TomTom map updates. My recommendation would be to pay for the legitimate software, or buy a Garmin or other GPS if you can find a good deal. Here is a new Garmin GPS you can get for 69.99 with free shipping:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Garmin-n%FCvi-2200-3.5-Inch-Portable-GPS-Navigator----Brand-New%2C-Free-Shipping%21/110814035515?_trksid=p1468660.m2000037
Good luck!

Hi, anyone know if there is a cheaper way to update maps for western and eastern europe on a Tomtom Go 910? Mr Tomotom wants &70 and I may as well buy a new sat nav!

The only other way to get maps is to look for third party map files. Sometimes they are free. I've not tried to find one for my tomtom but have for my magellan. So if someone has done one then you just need to search the web for something like tomtom map download and the area covered.

G730 how do I update maps for Australia

1. If you have TomTom Home application installed, attach your Tomtom to your PC and run the program. Select update map. Options should be offered with prices.
2. Go to TomTom web site. Follow options for maps. Either download/pay for map or apply for a map on an SD card if preferred. Register it at the given site.
3. There are non-TomTom sites offering maps and keygen/codes to unlock them. Not an appropriate solution, though and my mention of them does not imply that I endorse them in any way.

TomTom 920 GPS Activation code

Unless your TomTom device comes with a "life-time" map, you need (to pay for a map update and) get an activation code everytime to wish to install a new/revised map on your device. You can subscribe to a year of update (i.e. 4 maps updates for the year) and you should be able to update the maps (4 times) after you enter the activation code (once you've paid for the map subscription).

Tom tom Western european map

This problem is due to the memory card not containing the TomTom application or map. To update the application onto the memory card
  • Connect the device to your computer.
  • Open the TomTom Home application.
  • Click on 'Update My Device'.
This should then install the application onto the SD card. Alternativly, you could perform all the steps above without the SD card in the device, this will install the application onto the internal memory. Note: you may also need to install your maps, voices, etc after you updat.
