SOURCE: New Rechargable Batteries Die after A Couple of Pictures

This model is renowned for poor battery life. Some people say using the CRV3 battery lasts a lot longer but my advice is to buy NimH batteries with at least 2600mah. Some Nimh are only 700mah and obviously will last less than a third the time of a 2600. Keeping the use of the LCD to a minimum will increase battery life and using the flash puts a tremendous drain on the batteries so if you can do without the flash switch it off. Combine these tips with a set of 2600mah batteries and I'll guarantee you'll be pleasantly surprised. As a sideline I always have a good laugh when I see an Olympics opening at night or a firework display and all you can see is thousands of flashes going off which the majority only reach about 12 feet maximum and the parade being shot is some 300 feet away. SOURCE: Need specs on AC adapter

It'll need a +5v and a +12v.
I'll repost tomorrow with current ratings, I've got one at work.

Or you could take the drive out of the Seagate case and put it in another case, they are cheap.

SOURCE: going through batteries abnormally quickly

Hi. I had the same problem with my Canon S1 IS. In my case the problem was caused by flash capacitor. To check if it is the case just follow the following procedure. 1. Turn on the camera. 2. Be sure that low battery warning is flashing on LCD. 3. Turn off the flash by pressing flash button (be sure that flash is OFF but not in AUTO regime). 4. Turn off the camera. 5. Open and close the battery door. 6. Turn on the camera. 7. Take several pictures.
If after these operations the low battery warning does not show up it means that flash capacitor causes the problem and it should be replaced. Or you still can make pictures with your camera without using a flash.

SOURCE: My camera eats batteries like candy!

i have similar problems with a Kodak .. i bought the best lithium ion rechargeable batteries. and it still only lasted for about 10 min..
i put them in the charger and the charger lit up green...meaning the batteries are ready and fully charged only took about 15 min.to go green.
i thought that was strange so next time i just let them stay in the charger for like 3 hours....the next time i used my camera i had it taking pictures for over 2 hours..non stop!!! i was so happy..so the dumb charger was incorrect when it says the battery was fully charged..

I have sony cybershot dsc 10 digital camera but it dsn't power on batery charge is full

Hi,

Please make sure that the Battery in the Camera is fully charged.
Please check if the issue is with the battery charger. Make sure that the Charge Lamp in the Battery Charger is lit when connected to the Wall outlet.
You can try recharging the battery pack for almost 6 hours as initial charging.
If you've another battery pack, try using the same to check if the issue is with the Camera or with the battery.
You can also try turning on the Camera by connecting the optional ACL-S5K AC Adapter. This Adapter can be used for turning on the Camera, it cannot be used to charge the battery pack. For charging the battery in the Camera, the supplied battery charged needs to be used.
If the Camera is not turning on using both the AC Adapter and new battery, then the Camera may require service.

Thanks for using FixYa.

The batteries in my DSC H1 camera only last about 10 % as long as they used to. New batteries don't solve the problem. Can the camera be fixed? Larry

I would suggest trying a different type of battery. If you're using AA batteries, often alkaline ones don't work. Try lithium or even rechargable AAs. If it's a rechargable lithium type (a square battery) try charging the battery fully and then using it completely to refresh the lithium cells. Try cleaning the contacts (silver pieces where the battery touches the camera) with a soft cloth as they can easily get corroded. Generally battery failure is not to do with the camera itself.

Batteries need replaced constantly. I am using 2 AA alkaline as instructed. As soon as I put them in it says batteries are low and shuts off. This is happening with all brands of new batteries. What's the...

Canon actually has recalled some serial numbers for your model camera for the problem that you're experiencing. Some of The Canon Powershot A530 and A540 cameras are subject to an advisory recall. Seems that a small spring on the battery compartment door can short out the batteries. Suspect this of yours, in that you mention that your batteries aren't lasting long. If your camera is on the list, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Samsung S85 problem

I have had similar symptoms that seem to be due to battery power.
Using and OHM meter I find that the Samsung S85 eats batteries. If the charge drops to 1.4 something volts from a 1.5+ volt battery, the camera does not function properly.
The camera is nice an compact ... but I need to carry the same volume in batteries to make sure I can use it.

maybe you can alter your settings I think some settings (the resolution or size of pictures ?) may cause batteries to run down more quickly.

Camera not working - S85 Digital Samsung Camera

If you've had the rechargeable batteries for a long time, they can wear out. I would try getting some new rechargeable batteries or try some lithium batteries in your camera. They're a little more expensive but they're the best for digital devices and they last a little longer.

I have a samsung digimax 201

Digital cameras in general use massive amounts of power to supply their internal electronics and that big, beautiful, bright LCD view screen.

We switched to 2500ma NiMH rechargeable batteries. At first they would barely work, about 25 shots and they would die, after 5 to 10 discharge/ recharge cycles though, they now work great. I recharge them every night and like to leave at least one set on the charger all the time to keep it 'topped up'. Most chargers have this feature, ours even has a built in fan for when the batteries get hot (they do on fast-charge mode).

Now the rechargeables work great, we recently went to a race for my daughter and took 1.5 gigs of photos and movies on one set of batteries! Amazing, considering with standard AAs, we would get about 6-10 minutes of 640x480 movies on a set of batteries.

Our rechargeable set is a cheapo Walmart close out (got it for $15- four batteries and charger!) by Digital Concepts.

Hope this helps,
