Washer will not fill with water, it hums when it is supposed to be filling but the water comes out the bottom front of the machine and not in the washer. no error code

It is a lg washing machine model # wm1814cw It doesn't continually flow out the bottom but stops at the timed intervals and continues on to the next stage until it is timed to add more water and then again it is accessing the water but not sending it to the tub, it just flows out the front access panel at the bottom of the machine.

tidalwave If the water continues to flow even when the washer timer and the power to the washer are off then you are right and the water inlet valve has to be replaced. If it does it only when the washer is on then it could be different problems. In that case the first thing you have to check is the water level switch. This is the device which controls the water level. Remove the power first.Open the control panel and you will see the switch on the left side. There is the clear plastic hose connected to the switch. Make sure the hose is not loose. This is one of the most common cause of overflow. If it got loose, drain out all water from the washer before you reconnect the hose. If this is not the issue then you have to check the continuity across the water level switch therminals. When there is no water you should measure the continuity across therminals 11 and 12 (gray and orange wires). Whet the tub has filled up with water you should measure the continuity across therminals 11 and 14 (gray and light blue wires). If the continuity is wrong replace the water level switch. If you are going to do it, make sure there is no water in the tub before you will remove the clear plastic hose from the old switch. Good luck. Gendos. post back...

SOURCE: Washer continuously fills but drains at the same time during rinse cycle.

you have the drain pipe too low into tthe house drain pipe, raise the washers drain pipe up , you only need four inches down into the hous drain

also the house drain pipe needs to be as high as the lid of the machine before you put the washer drain tube into the house drain

you have a syphoning effect

SOURCE: Maytag washer PAV2300 water over flow

I had the same problem and went out to a website for Maytag washers. That website advised that the problem could be mechanical or electrical. In my case, the problem was a clogged tube and it took only ten or fifteen minutes to fix.
0. Unplug the machine.
1. Open up the front of the washer. Along the left hand side is a long transparent tube. The tube connects to a wallet size container on the side and near the bottom of the tub.
2. Inspect the transparent tube. It may be clogged where the tube meets the wallet sided container.
Note: When the tub is full, it creates pressure in that wallet size compartment which sends air up that tube to a pressure switch located within the panel at the top of the washer. The pressure switch flips and tells the machine - stop filling the tub with water. My machine had a visible clog in the bottom of the tube that carries the air from the bottom of the tub up to the pressure switch.
3. Disconnect the tube and clean. I used a pipecleaner to get most of the mold out. To completely clear the tube, remove the top panel and disconnect the tube from the pressure switch in the top panel and blow air down the tube.
4. Reconnect, test - and you should be good to go. If not, your pressure switch may be dead.

SOURCE: Ge washer wont stop filling with water

The usual culprit for a washer that will not stop filling is the pressure switch. The switch is located inside the operator console behind the load size, or water level knob (this knob has different names based on the washer model). Before assuming the pressure is defective, however, inspect the pressure switch and ensure the small plastic air hose is still attached to it. It is common for this small air hose to come loose or develop small cracks or breaks. Without the hose installed, the switch cannot detect the appropriate pressure in the wash tub and will not shut off. The result: as washer that continually fills and will overflow. What appears to be a significant problem may only be a loose hose and few minutes of your time. Please inspect the switch, check the entire length of the hose for cracks and make sure the electrical connection(s) are intact and not corroded, then get back to me. I hope this helps you.

PS Make sure you UNPLUG the washer before servicing!

Why doesn't it fill or run?

motors don't hum unless there is a faulty start /run capacitor in the circuit
the hum can be from a faulty water control solenoid
could be a faulty program control board

My Kenmore HE2 front load washer when I go to start a load of clothes it's making a humming sound and not filling up with water?

Either one of your water valves isn't working properly, or the lines have sediment restricting the volume of water . What I would do is turn the water to the machine off and remove the water lines and make sure they aren't filled will calcium, etc. and look in the water valves where the hoses connect because that are, which has a screen, may be full of nastiness. If both those are good then the water valve solenoid(s) are stuck and won't open. The humming sound you hear lets you know the rest of the machine is working because the sound is generated by power being applied to the valve by the control.

Just moved front load beaumark washer into a new house, and it won't fill with water. the display lights up and you can here washer trying to fill (humming noice). All display lights come on and it...

It sounds like your water inlet valve is either not getting a signal to let water in from your control board or the water inlet valve is defective. Since you are hearing a humming noise, I would say that the water inlet valve is defective or has been damaged in transit.

Is it getting enough water?

For front loaders, they usually have the level underneath the door, they use small amounts of water, but they spin so all the clothes do get
soaked with water.

water inlet valve sounds like it's bad and you can check the screen where the water lines hook up to the washer. those screens sometimes get so corroded the water won't get passed

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

Not enough water

run the machine empty. if the water comes to the bottom of the glass window, you're fine. No you don't need to see the soap suds either, too musch soap will cause the machine not to function properly and won't spin out all the water
