Is it a dynamics sensing keyboard (does it sound soft when you play softly and loud when you hit the keys hard)?

If so, you need to clean the double contact under those keys that sound too loud (if contacts are dirty, the key might either not work at all or it may loose the ability to sense how hard you hit it and will work at full volume).

You'l probably need to disassemble the unit and remove the keyboard to be able to remove the keys that don't work well, after you've done so, you need to clean the lower (under) side of the double rubber button which is struck by the key when you hit it, also be sure to clean the contact tabs on the circuit board undereath the rubber pad (you can use ethyl or isopropyl alcohol and "cotton sticks").

This should do the trick if the contacts are dirty, but it may have no effect if they are damaged or worn out (in such case you would have to replace the rubber pad for that particular key).

Baldwin EP 101 When I turn it on there is a loud roaring sound. Can not control the volume, and no keys will sound.

Even a nearby lightning strike can damage electronic equipment, and other things that can cause damage are surges, transients or voltage spikes caused by power outages. Commercial electronic equipment isn't protected against such things.

Older equipment that used thermionic valves or tubes were more resilient to such things but even they are unlikely to survive even a minor lightning strike. I once had an old tube type tv and the antenna was struck by lightning - the tv lit up the corner of the room fizzing and popping with blue sparks flying for a couple of seconds. Nobody was more surprised than me when it still worked, though it was never the same tv again...

Later equipment with semiconductors and especially integrated circuits or silicon chips are very sensitive and easily damaged and even if they do survive they will almost certainly fail at a later date. Memory type circuits are extremely easy to damage which is why they have to be foil wrapped, placed in conductive bags or packed in conductive foam until used...

Your piano will need expert attention to assess the damage but it wouldn't be surprising if repairs cost more than the insurer was willing to pay; hopefully it is insured...

Technics sx pr 150 piano Some notes play at low volume

If certain notes on your Technics SX-PR150 digital piano are playing at a lower volume than others, it's possible that there could be a few underlying reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:
  1. Dust and Debris:
    • Check if there is any dust, debris, or foreign objects present around the keys and internal components. Dust or debris could affect the key's action and cause uneven volume levels.
  2. Contact Cleaning:
    • If you're comfortable doing so, you can carefully open the piano and clean the contacts underneath the affected keys. Contacts that have accumulated dirt or oxidation might lead to volume inconsistencies. Use a clean, dry cloth or contact cleaner specifically designed for electronics.
  3. Key Mechanism:
    • Inspect the key mechanism for any signs of physical damage, misalignment, or wear. Damaged or misaligned keys could lead to uneven volume levels.
  4. Sensors and Sensors Board:
    • Digital pianos like the Technics SX-PR150 use sensors to detect key presses and control volume. If a sensor is malfunctioning or damaged, it could result in volume inconsistencies. Check the sensors and their connections for any issues.
  5. Audio Output and Amplification:
    • Check if the issue is specific to the internal speakers or if it also occurs when using headphones or external amplification. If the issue is present across all audio outputs, it might be related to the piano's internal components.
  6. Factory Reset:
    • Perform a factory reset on the piano to restore its settings to default. This can help rule out any software-related issues that might be affecting the volume levels.
  7. Professional Inspection:
    • If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it's recommended to seek the assistance of a professional technician who is experienced in repairing digital pianos. They can diagnose the problem accurately and perform any necessary repairs.
Please exercise caution while performing any internal inspections or repairs on your digital piano, especially if you're not experienced in working with electronic equipment. If you're unsure or uncomfortable with the process, it's best to seek professional help to avoid causing further damage.

QS8 keyboard. Why is volume in organ mode much louder than piano mode when I switch between modes without touching volume slide?

On organ mode, in general, almost all brands of the modern keyboard, velocity setting is not enabled. Setting velocity is used to determine how much the level of the sound that follows how strongly you press the keys. It is really just to imitate the sound of vintage organs, which in the past, electronic organ technologi not use the velocity on the keys. So, how strong / slow we press the keys, the sound level will remain the same.
At the Piano mode, modern keyboard using setting velocity. This also to imitate an acoustic piano, which, if we press the keys slowly, the sound level will be slow as well, and vice versa.
So, in your case,at the same volume slider, try to play on the organ modes, note level. Moving to the piano mode and press the keys securely powered (full power). Then the sound level should be equal to the organ mode.
On modern keyboards, also included organ sound that added velocity setting. Usually found on the user bank.

Mpc 1000 loud static

Maybe try adjusting the MASTER level?

Good Luck

Other settings
Adjusting the master level You can adjust the level of the headphone and the stereo out by turning the MAIN VOLUME knob. The MAIN
VOLUME changes the analog signal level. This will also adjust the entire level of the MPC1000 digitally.
01. Press the [MODE] key and then the [PAD 10] (OTHER).
It switches to the OTHER mode.
02. Press the [F1] (GLOBAL) key.
The GLOBAL page will be displayed.
03. In the Master level field, set the level.
You will set the digital signal level, which will be sent out to the DA converter. The MPC1000 can output up to
32 sounds simultaneously. There is the great difference in the level when you play single sample and play 32
sounds. If you increase the value in the Mater level field, you can increase the entire level of the MPC1000 to
create more powerful sound with less noise. However, if you playback many sounds at the same time, the
level may be overloaded, which may cause distortion. If you decrease the value in the Master level field, you
can prevent distortion when you play many sounds at the same time. However, you cannot have a good
result in respect to the noise or punch of the sound. Set the appropriate value in the Master level field
depending on the application.

Hi, The C note in 4th octave, when played immediately after or along with D and B of the 3rd octave, has a touch response problem. It is terribly lower than the level set and to your surprise, gives out a...

The key contacts are dirty. Each key has two contacts to implement VELOCITY sensing. When a certain one fails to contact, then the note is sounded at full volume. The contacts are conductive rubber pills pressed onto circuit traces. Clean only with 99% isoprophyl alcohol and Q tips very gently. It takes a LOT of dis-assembly and care to do this. It might be better to take this to a repair shop. There is a possibilty that a liquid was spilled into your keys as well. Cleaning is the answer.

Roland f-50 First 7 right hand whites keys appear to have lost volume and sound off / flat.

One of the lines in the keyboard scanner has opened up. I have an idea what it might be and it is a nasty problem involving circuit traces that are silver conductive paint on a plastic insulating base that separate from a jumper at each end of the strip that the key contacts are made by conductive rubber pills pressed down by the keys. The contact of the flexible circuit under the keys to the jumper cable can be broken by vibration. I have an EPS7 with the problem and other than replacing the whole contact strip under the keys it really has no easy solution. You should probably have a Roland shop look at this problem. If your unit has this same arrangement it is repairable only by replacing the whole key contact strip.

My fender hot rod deluxe is distorting in clean channel when I push the volume past 2

Realize that the number on the volume control is only relative... it means nothing regarding what the amp can produce. With a high level output guitar you can easily drive the amp into distortion at very low volume control level settings... what counts is the actual output sound volume and specifically the voltage output going to the speaker. Once the amp reaches saturation, any further input just pushes it into distortion or "flat topping".
An oscilloscope on the output will quickly show when amp starts to flat top.

I have a Casio Privia & I believe liquid fell unto the keyboard & as a result 8 notes do not have any sound. How can I get this repaired? I bought this 3 years ago.

You can try to dry the inside of the keyboard by taking the end of the key board off.
Take a hair dryer and place it at the end of the keyboard and let the air dry out the fluid this may take some time depends on how much fluid you have inside.
Do not use the dryer on high because the heat will warp the bed the keys fit into, this will damage the board which cost about $ 400.00 to repair. Do not turn on the key board while the fluid is still inside this can also damage the keyboard. I belive you have already turn it on because you said eight keys do not work.Do not open the keyboard because the keys will be hard to put back in the grooves the way they were.

You can try and have it repaired at American Perfect Crystal Corporation
Casio Parts Distributor 520 Eight Ave. 2nd Floor
New York, New York 10018

They will charge about 50-89 dollars to check it for you and if its reparable the checking fee will go toward the repair.
I wasted kool-aid in my casio privia while the keyboard was off, but made a grave mistake because I tried to repair it my self with the hair dryer at a high level. I was told that the major board was warp, that being said try not to do self repair.
