I had same issue w/ red blinking light on my Sunbeam controller SW114, pad CAT93. Was about to toss away but then got it to work perfectly by doing this:1. With unit UNplugged, press & hold the single grey controller button2. While pressing the controller button, plug the unit inUnit will power up in the 'warm' (green light) setting; pressing the controller button will cycle you thru the others modes.
SOURCE: my sunbeam matress heated pad only flashes F1 and
you either have a power issue or the pad will not go to higher levels because of a heating element issue within the pad its best to replace because if it continues or gets worse then you could be looking at a future fire or electric shock please be carefull and take the safe way and replace it!

I have older sunbeam duel control matress pad. the control is simple with a dial that turnes for low or higher settings. it shows a red line that is small for low and gets thicker as the setting gets higher. there is a button for on and off. I set up the cover and turned on. the green on lite is flashing and there is no heat i do have it on high and it now will not turn off by the button.
