OMG..why so many bad answers on here all a sudden ...Chances are you have a bad Tcon board or its possible it could be the main as well however tcons fail way more than main boards with your issue, vertical lines means bad tcon, horizontal can mean a bad display...I can count on one hand the times Ive had a bad display with vertical lines and Ive serviced thousands of HD TV's over the years...but what I want you to do 1st is remove the LVDS cable that goes from the main board to the tcon board, clean the contacts and replace it...then do the same to the two flat panel ribbons that go from the tcon board to the panel, its not real common but on occasion they will loose connection and give vertical lines, don't want you to buy a board if cleaning the cable connections will help...just use a little rubbing alcohol to clean them...Good luck, if you need more help feel free to message me back.
Basically that is the provblem with the display of your tv.the only solution is to change the display of your tv.

Unplug for 30 seconds from it's power source and then try it again. If that doesn't work, call Samsung for further troubleshooting and have your model number and serial number handy. Please be prepared to tell them how long the line is.

I did some reading on this. They said its caused by a faulty DMD board. I understand it's costly... around $700 to replace. Still looking for a cheaper avenue...

Need to check the two things.
1st -- need to exchange T-con Board.
2nd -- need to exchange the cables between T-con & LCD panel or
between T-con & Main(LVDS cable)
