My Breadman tr800 is making loud screeching sounds at the start of its cylcle like a bearing has no lubricant. Can I take it apart and replace the appropriate part? Or is there a way to oil it?

SOURCE: Loud screeching noise coming from the unit.

A screeching or squealing noise usually comes from the fan motor. There may be an oil port and you can buy a small telescoping oil bottle at a super hardware store or an a/c supply house. Before putting in he oil, remember to TURN OFF THE POWER TO THE UNIT and only use a light squeeze on the bottle - over oiling will cause a mess inside the motor. It may be a sealed motor and no oil ports. In either case, budget for a new motor as if it's to the squealing stage, the bearings are already damaged and it's a just matter of time before before the motor bearings fail. If possible, get oil on the bearings ASAP - and use the proper lightweight oil for made for this application.

SOURCE: Fridge making loud screeching sounds

Generally, in my experience, the loud screeching is caused by one of the fan motors or fan blades. There is a fan inside the cabinet (possiblle two, one on the freezer and one on the refrigerator side). Also, there is a fan underneath the unit near the compressor (probably in the back).

If the screeching is coming from underneath then pull the unit out from the wall and remove the cardboard cover at the bottom back. Now turn the unit on and check for where the screeching is coming from.

If it is the fan blade (hitting something) or the motor, you can remove these and replace them easily. UNPLUG THE REFRIGERATOR BEFORE TOUCHING ANYTHING UNDERNEATH THE BACK OF THE REFRIGERATOR.)

Good Luck!

Loud screeching sound from window fan.

There are two bearings in most motors.  One is at the base of the fan blade where the shaft goes into the motor.  Try lubricating this with a small amount of household oil.  If your lucky, this will stop the problem.  If not, the bearings have worn and the unit will need replacing.
