I can't get a new seal to seal.

I know the seat seal is not leaking and the rubber on the shaft is not leaking. When the pump is sitting on the fan guard and the impeller is off the stainless steal back plate holds water but whit the pump assembled it leaks a lot out the seal under pressure.

SOURCE: GE 24in GSD980X Dishwasher water leak in pump &motor area

I had the same problem. There is no way of replacing seal/joint between pump and motor. It can't be taken apart w/o destroying parts, it only comes as an assembly. Costs around 130$ for pump/motor assy, so it might not be worth it.

SOURCE: shaft seal leaks on sta rite pump?

You need to get to the shaft at the back of the motor to hold it while you use water pump pliers or the like to turn it off. It will unscrew in the regular direction but if it has a set screw to hold it in (You will find this at the center of the impeller) this will be a left hand screw so you will go clockwise to loosen it. This should get the impeller off. If not you will need to put a screwdriver in the side of the impeller and give it a hit to lossen the impeller. Good luck.

SOURCE: Leaks water out of the back

Well, I am no plumber but I would think that 108 psi is a bit high for your plumbing system. I have this pump installed in my house and have the max pressure set at 50 with a PRV on the outlet side of the pump.

S max engine malfunction light came on as i was towing a caravan. Also could smell diesel. After I let the car sit found fuel had been leaking from engine. Any ideas?

check the injector pump. look for fuel marks. this area has a rubber shaft seal that can leak or blow under load. looks like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FUEL-INJECTION-PUMP-SEAL-FOR-FORD-1-8-TD-Di-TDDi-TDCi-XS4Q9G605AH-1198063-/302039204645

Dishwasher leak

leaks on washers are sometimes hard to find, so i'll tell you the two most common causes of washer leaks ive come across :
(1) DOOR SEALS these rubber seals don't last forever and if you use hard water to wash or heavy chlorinated they go fast , if you can pinch the rubber (hard) with your fingers and it doesn't relax back to normal in two seconds or less then yes its bad
(2) PUMP SEALS the water pumps are usually located in center of bottom of washer with a strong flashlight you see water dripping from center of unit (bottom) then chances are you have a bad pump seal
also i have found that using the new detergent packs of some brands cause pump seals to go as the plastic packs don't dissolve completely and get wrapped around pump shaft

Replaced water pump seals twice on 06yz450 and they keep leaking

I would reccomend replacing both water pump shaft bearings and also the shaft if there is any sign of grooving on the shaft. Without looking at a diagram i am assuming that the water side of this bikes pump is a mechanical(ceramic) seal design . Sucessful replacement of these mechanical seals can be tricky. A few tips are: be certain that all case surface areas are clean with all old seal/sealing debris removed such as with sccotch brite. So that the seal will seat and seal properly in the case. NEVER allow your dirty/oily fingertips to touch either of the ceramic pieces of the seal in the contact area. Lubricate these ceramic pieces with a standard green type of coolant only upon assembly. Always use a regular green type of coolant in the system untill you are confident of the install and then change to another type if you are going to. Be aware that it is not uncommon for the mechanical(ceramic) type of seal to weep slightly during initial break in as the two halves seat to each other. This weepage should dissappear in a short period of running time.

Leaking water behind fan

The water pump is directly behind your fan clutch. Most probably, it's the pump. Shaft seal is already worn out (maybe because of damage bearing). You have to replace the whole assembly or replace the shaft, seal, and bearing. These items are within the repair kit that you can buy in parts store.

I have a davey torrium xj70t-0 which is leaking at the discharge end only when the pump is on. I figure it is the seal and have removed it to replace but it looks ok. Should I get a new one anyway or could...

If it's not the seal it may be a worn section on the shaft. If it was me and the seal wasn't to expensive I would polish down the sealing surface on the shaft and seat and replace the seal. Not knowing what pressures you are running at it doesn't take much wear on the seal to cause a leak. I hope this helps you and thanks.

I replaced the motor on my super 2 pump with a new shaft seal. Put it all back together including electrical and now it's leaking from the bottom. I retightened the screws to make sure they weren't loose...

Most likely leaking from either the shaft seal, or the valute seal (big seal plate o-ring). When you replaced the motor you should have also replaced the shaft seal. If not go back and do that whether it's leaking or not. If you get your head down and look at the bottom of the pump while it's running you should be able to see the water coming from the joint between the seal plate, and the seal plate housing, or just behind that from the bottom of the motor probably from the vent holes in the motor housing. If it's coming from the motor then the shaft seal is leaking, and the water is traveling along the shaft and out the bottom of the motor. This will eventually get into the motor and seize up the bearings. If it's coming from the valute seal, then you need to either replace or re-seat the seal. As a general rule you should always replace the shaft seal, and diffuser and seal plate o-rings when you replace the motor or split the seal. I'm not as familiar with the 2 speed hayward super 2, but the standard super 2's have a small ribbon seal, often called a rubber band. They are infamous for going bad especially after pulling the pump apart.
