My DC14 is not turning on. Is there an internal fuse or likely next step?

I have put a multimeter across the switch/on-button and there is power when the switch is engaged - so, not plug, cable or switch..

You will need to follow the power down to the motor and insure it is getting full voltage. If so you ,
may need a new motor. Be sure to check the common wires too. If you have a bad spot in any of the common wires the motor will not run.

SOURCE: kenmore gas dryer will not start

Try connecting the wires going to the start button to each other, see if it starts then. You checked the door switch the same way? Thermal fuse or in line resistor?

SOURCE: tv overvoltage

Normaly there will be much more damage than the internal fuse. On this model, if I can remember correctly, there is a pig-tail fuse that is solder connected to the circuit board. When this fuse is blown, normaly there are serious problems in the power supply or some other areas of the set.

It would be best for you to take the set to a service center to have it properly checked and have an estimate. I have had your described situation before. Most of the time the set would be very expensive to service in this type of case.

SOURCE: Kenmore dishwasher. Model 665.13593K600. No

Hi

If the dishwasher is not working with no lights or display then the most likely cause is an open thermal fuse.It is located in the console and can be checked for continuity with a meter or it can be bypassed if no meter is available. The thermal fuse will have a black wire and a black/white wire on it. If you have no meter then with the power turned off you can remove these two wires and join them together with a small piece of insulated wire and see if you get any lights. One other possibility is the wire connections at the dishwasher junction box behind the kick plate. Sometimes the wire nuts get loose and a good connection is lost. Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors.

My Hoover Upright vacuum Elite II model U4709-910 wont turn on. I put a new bag in ..is there a reset button?

I have never seen a reset button fitted to a vacuum cleaner - mostly the safety device is either a self resetting bimetal breaker or a thermal fuse.

Likely failed to start due to a coincidental failure. Sometimes dust and fibres can work their way into the bimetal breaker but mostly it is an internal break in the power cord or a faulty switch. The circuit must be checked with a trusty multimeter and that will require the appliance to be at least partially dismantled.

My dyson dc14 when you push the start button doesnt turn on? could the button need replaced

The most likely fault is a break in the cable near the point where it enters the machine, if cable is ok it could be the switch, or it could be a fuse in the plug if you have fused plugs. Get someone to check the cable, often the broken part can be removed, and you end up with a slightly shorter cable by about 20cm

Dyson dc14 stopped working.....it does not switch on. I have checked the switch it seems fine.....changed the fuse even that did not resolve the problem....taken the filter out cleaned it and put it b

Did you drop the handle on the floor? or against the wall. If the turn on switch is in the handle, it can dislocate the power source. best to take it in to a repair shop, but sometimes it's an easy fix if you are mechanically inclined.

Was vaccuming and vaccum quit. Tried unplugging and turning back on. Getting absolutely no power. unscrewed screw under handle and tried to make sure connection was being made. Don't really know what to...

ok..If you have a multimeter you can check plug fuse then switch and motor, if you put leads across the plug you will get some reading if its working.could be thermal cut out on the motor.

Dyson dc14 vacuum cleaner ,the power, off-on switch does not work

Take it back - the power on switch button sounds like its being tempramental and it shouldn't do that. It would have to be repaired.

Dyson dc14 power button

I just had this same problem tonight. As I was looking on this sight to find a solution, my husband fixed it. First he removed the extended handle part, then he took the 2 screws out behind the power switch and removed the front cover (directly underneath the power button). He then removed the plastic power switch cover and took the power leads off the switch and removed the switch and tapped on it, then the little button stuck in place:) Sounds silly but it worked! Good luck!
