Yes,unplug it,get a putty knife and slide it under the top control panel on each corner, there's two clips one on each side, then when you free up the control panel there's 3 1/4 inch screws, remove them and slide the top panel forwards, there's 2 phillips screws that hold the door switch in place, get a thin tip screw driver, slide it into the plastic wire connector to separate the switch from the harness.i'm pretty sure this is how you get the top off.go here, open top and console and you'll see the clips on the top panel, then go to cabinet parts and the door switch is the common one it's number 41 on the look up part WP3406107 hope this helps you out,

SOURCE: Door switch replacement

REMOVE TWO SCREWS UNDER THE LINT FILTER DOOR.
USE A FLAT INSTRUMENT SUCH AS A PUTTY KNIFE TO PUSH AGAINST A SPING CLIP IN EACH OF THE FRONT CORNERS OF THE SPACE BETWEEN THE TOP AND FRONT.
ONCE THE SPRING CLIPS ARE PUSHED TOWARD THE BACK, YOU CAN LIFT THE TOP AND SWING IT BACK UP AND OUT OF THE WAY. IT IS HINGED AT THE BACK. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE DOOR SWITCH FROM THE OPENED TOP. IF NOT, REMOVE TWO SCREWS LOCATED TOWARD THE TOP FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CABINET.THEN YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SWING THE FRONT
TOP TOWARD YOU. THE DRUM WILL FALL SLIGHTLY BECAUSE IT IS SUPPORTED BY THE FRONT. THIS SHOULD
GIVE YOU ENOUGH ROOM TO ACCESS THE SWITCH.

SOURCE: Access to replace door switch

Depending on the type of door the dryer has, is how you approach the access of these dryers. Mostly though you yank out the filter first.Remove the 2 screws in the filter housing on top. Then use a putty knife to pop the top. Remove the screws holding the front panel on. VERY IMPORTANT! Raise the front up an inch before pulling forward or the panel clips will break! Some models have a panel on bottom. If they do then this panel must come off first. Then you remove the door springs and back off the screws holding down the bottom of the door panel. Then pop the top and remove the screws on top to get the panel out so you can replace the door switch and actuator assembly:

SOURCE: I need to replace a door switch on a Kenmore Dryer

I'm not too familiar with the model but you either have screws that are just above the door (open the door first) or two metal tabs in the front that hold the top on the dryer. The two metal tabs can be seen if you take a flashlight and look where the top meets the front about 8" from each side roughly. A flatblade screwdriver inserted at the top of these fasteners will release them from the top. Next have a 5/16 nut driver to remove the two screws on each side holding the front onto the sides. There may be screws at the bottom as well. You may not have to remove the front at all. Also HAVE THE POWER DISCONNECTED! Don't want ya to get fried. Remove the leads from the door switch on the right and remove.

Kenmore Dryer 70 series Problem: Dryer will not turn on. When the dryer door is closed, the timer does count-down (ticking); however, the drum does not turn and other than the ticking timer, I can...

Sounds like your door switch has gone bad. This is a very simple and ever so easy repair. It will require you to access the internal workings of your dryer. There are step by step instructions on this website of "how to open your dryer" that are really good. A quick search should locate them. Usually a dryer switch is just a couple of screws and a molex (special type of plastic molded electrical connection) or a few spade/wire terminal connections. Make sure the dryer is unplugged before you work on the internal areas or the control panel. Popping the top up is usually done with either a screw driver or putty knife. You should be able to see a small portion of (2) clips where the top meets the rest of the body in the front. A bit of effort is required to get these clips to release. Once open, you will probably have two screws--1 on each side at the top left and right just down a short ways from the top. Removing these should allow the front to come off. Be careful when you remove this. The drum usually rides on the front portion of the dryer and will shift down when the front is removed. Just make sure when you put it back on that it is seated where it should be. The dryer front/door section should lift up off hinges at the bottom. Some of these have screws that attach at the bottom front. You may have to remove these. Once you have the front door off, the door switch should be on the back of the front panel of the dryer. From there it should be a matter of a few screws. If you have a meter, you can check if for continuity. If it has none and the dryer door is still closed, it needs to be replaced. Look for the link for dryer access on here if your dryer is a bit different. A door switch is only about $10 - $20 dollars on line. Make sure you have your model and serial number handy. It is either on the back or on the inside of the dryer door/lip. Hope this helps.

Need to replace element, switch and thermostat on Kenmore Elite Oasis 110.67042600 dryer...but don't know how to remove the panels or which panels to remove.

remove the front panel and you will be able to access everything. Unplug the dryer, open door and remove all screws, with a flat tip screw driver pry gently on the top corners. Gently move the panel forward and disconnect door switch. sit panel aside and lift top up and back, it should rest on its clips. then heating coil is in the back right corner. Good Luck Tim

My Kenmore Series 90 dryer won't run as it appears the door does not hit the actuator. It would appear either the door has moved to a lower position or the actuator has moved up into the dryer. May I ask...

The door switch or actuator is broken. A common problem. On most Kenmore dryers this is replace by lifting the top. Since you haven't given the whole model number I will discuss raising the top on the most common model.

If your model has a lint filter at the top the slide show below should show you how to raise the top.

Kenmore Dryer

Disconnect power to unit. Lift the cover from the lint filter or if yours is the one with a filter and cover together, remove the whole filter. You will see 2 screws under the cover/filter, remove them. Now, you will need a putty knife or a thin shafted straight screw driver to remove the top panel. Push the putty knife or screw driver to "pop" the front top clips. The top panel will hinge back towards the wall and can be left there. Just inside the top of the front panel, you will see 2 screws, remove them. You will see the wires for the door switch on the right side. *** the top of the front panel toward you to gain access to the switch for replacement.

Reverse process for reassembly. Good Luck

Dryer

#1 Unplug the dryer
#2 Use a putty blade under the corners of the Console and flip it back
#3 Remove 3 screws along back of top that were under the console (Might just be 2)
#4 Slide the top forward and remove
You will now have full access to the switch. Disconnect the harness and replace the switch.
#5 Reverse the above proceedure to replace the top

Good Luck,
