Sunbeam mixer I have a Sunbeam Mixmaster model 12C, 150 watts. On the back is a large dial which is used to change the speed. This speed changer does not work. The mixer will only operate at high speed. Can you help me? Please note: my mixer moded is the one note above as a model 12C, 150 watts. I could not enter the model number in the product area below.
When you open it, there is are contact points and a piece that has to touch to change the speed. It may just be slightly bent or out of place. Some food may have gotten in there.

There is a cover plate over the screw that you need to tighten. This cover plate is held in place by two spring latches, 180 degrees apart. Use a small flat-tip screwdriver to depress first one latch, then the other. Don't use too much force - the latches are plastic and will break if treated roughly.
