I always heard a popping sound when the blue light went out. The red light would be on I would turn it on and then the blue light would go off. Now if I plug it in the red light goes on for a couple of seconds and just goes off. Is this the power supply or something else?

Purchased this Bionaire Permatech Air Cleaner BAP1525 for my mother Christmas 2007. Worked temporarily, but since it blew cold air, she turned it off. Tried to use it this spring and green light came on but unit would not work. Called Jarden (Bionaire), faxed proof of purchase, received new unit one week later. You might want to try this. Customer service rep said if I was unable to locate sales slip she could still send me a replacement. Worth a try!

I have the same TV and I just replaced the Capacitors. It came with 2 10000UF 10V caps and I put in 2 1000UF 35Volt caps from radio shack. Its like brand new. There is even a video on how to change them on You Tube.
SOURCE: won't turn on
Hi, everyone. Me too have the same problem. TV just stays in red but won't turn to blue. I tried unplugging then wait and restart again, sometimes it will work but lately that trick doesn't work anymore. Then somebody suggested to open the back of the tv (it's not hard... just a lot of screws and a couple of bolts to remove) and clean (vacuum) the exhaust fan. Out of frustration, I did open the back and clean the the fan (has a lot of dust on the blades) and everywhere where there is dust. Just be careful not to touch any part of the printed circuit board with the vacuum nozzle to eliminate the destructive effect of static electricity. Or while you're cleaning it you have to hold the metal frame with your other hand to ground yourself (by the way you have to unplug your tv before you start opening the back). After the cleaning then covering the back, the tv worked... for only a few hours. It did stop working again as soon as I turned it off then on again. Again I opened the back, this time I removed the power supply board ( that's the biggest board and located above where you connect all your wirings). Got myselt a small brush and start brushing and vacuuming the dust out. I don't know if the cleaning did the trick or it was the unplugging of the connectors from the power supply board. All these work did the job... my tv is still working for almost three weeks now. Another thing, when you have a a time warner cable with a dvr box where you can program its remote to power most of your equipment in sequence by pressing the remote power button, I set it so that the tv will be powered up last considering that power can fluctuate everytime a unit starts up specially when they are all connected to the same power/surge protector... tv doesn't like it when the power fluctuates while it is still starting. Hope these helps.... (Hitachi 42HDS69)
