SOURCE: My hand held Dyson vacuum will not charge. Every
My same symptoms are - after starting charge, Red light is on, then second light turns On. Then for a long time nothing happens. And later I have all three LED flashing.
I replaced battery and nothing changed.
Imeasured Power Supply voltage and found it 24.2v instead 28v as it stated on the label.
I opened it up and found that the three-lid chip marked 431 is faulty.
431 is a voltage shunt, which sets and controls output voltage.
You can use AIC431CUS or TL432 (TL431 has different pinout).
I replaced mine and volatge back to 28.25v and charger is now working as it should.
You can also use any TO-92 431 chip - there is enough room for it.
Good luck!
SOURCE: my dyson vacuum has no power.
Get an ohm meter (found on basically any multimeter), also called a continuency meter. its the setting that beeps when you have a straight line running from point a to b on a wire.
Unplug the vacuum. Test the cable from the plug to where it goes into the switch.Turn the switch on and test the points at the switch. Test the 2 wires running from the switch to the motor. make sure the 2 wires are plugged into the motor. Make sure the brushes on the motor is making contact with the armature. if they all test good, your motor has blown and will need replacing.

I suggest you check the hepa filter for black soot. If it is black and yucky then the motor is probably burnt out. Check out the guide at www.tasweb.org for instructions on how to fix it.
SOURCE: Dyson 07 plug gets very hot after prolonged vacuuming
Electrical current passes through the electric cord and plug - it will get warm, that's normal. If the problem is worse where you smell an electrical burning smell, only an authorized dealer can fit a new power cord to your vacuum cleaner. Call the Dyson helpline, they will let you know who the closest repair dealer in your area is.

Hi there,
I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. Like most Dyson cleaners, your DC25 is equipped with a safety device which shuts off the cleaner if it starts to overheat. This is often due to a blockage - I'd also recommend washing the filter. The easiest way to check for and remove any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online guide:
http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc25_new/dc25-animal/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-wont-switch-on-or-cuts-out/cut-out-in-use
The correct way to wash the filter is shown in our video guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLs3-zrv05E
The filters should be washed in cold water without any detergent, at least once every 3 months. Always ensure they're totally dry before replacing them - this may take up to 24 hours.
By clearing any obstructions and washing the filters, you should be able to resolve your issue without further assistance. However, if you've followed these steps and are still concerned, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you and recommend the best course of action.
Kind regards,
Jack
